Is everyone using scissors to trim their Feather blade to length:signs002:
And more importantly did you ask permission to use the wife's scissors?

Yes i use scissors. Hell no i did not ask permission. She would not let me use them Seriously though i use some harbor freight cheapos.

I wrecked my wife's kitchen boning scissors the first time I tried this.
(She hasn't noticed yet and maybe enough time will go by and I'll just shrug my shoulders if and when she does.) :signs002:

Went to hardware store and bought some metal cutters. Works like a charm.

Regular scissors just won't cut it.

:signs021:I had the Same experience with the Set that I bought at the time Bob..The NOS Blades were still Greased from the Factory & were Good to Go with a Good Stropping..These Empire Blades from the Factory are Just Amazing Smooth..It Sorta Blew me Away..The Adjustment Mechanism is Subtle but works very Well..They are Indeed Lovely Shavers..A Feat of Engineering & Built like a Panzer Tank..:)

I bought a Pair of Good Quality Kitchen Scissors with Serrated Edges...The Secret is not to use them for anything else..Put an Injector blade on top of the Pro Blade for size & Cut the Feather at the Cutting Edge side...One Clean Cut always..A Wee Tip..Cut the side of the blade that's going into the Injector & Not the side that's going to be loaded into a Magazine..It will Go into the Magazine far Easier..:angelic007:

Use 2nd hand Scissors at You're Own Peril..:happy102:

Good morning guys. Today was my first shave with my new to me Schick E2 injector that i traded a soap and some blades for with Connor aka @whiteboy_cannon. Love it!:love029: Very maneuverable and fun to shave with like my N1 but with a shorter handle. I'm positive it will be even more fun with a twin blade. 3 passes for a BBS finish. I was worried that the handle would slip because of it's smooth appearance but that wasn't the case. The TSD iced SubZero froze my face and my Mita balm finished it off with yet more icy goodness. Have a great shave and a great weekend friends. :)

Im reading this after ruining a pair of obviously too light duty scissors (currently hiding from wife)....... I did manage to get the blade trimmed and installed, so off I go for my first Type F/Feather shave.

First shave with my EverSharp Fashion Razor today.

    Personna Blade
VDH soap ('cause it's the only pink soap I have)
    Kent Synthetic (My softest brush)
Alum Block (gotta have something manly)
A/S1 Witchhazel and EO, lime and blood orange mostly
A/S2 Florida Water (For a girly finish!)

Was a bit concerned with finding the angle of attack with the EFR. Two pass shave today, A few weepers on the neck. It seems I had some trouble keeping my angle consistent. Was an above average shave on the comfort-o-meter. BBS above the jaw line, DFS below the jaw line.

The EFR might take some getting used to in order to get my XL hands to maneuvering it properly for all areas/directions.

I am getting some GEM stainless blades from Tryablade to use with a Featherweight. About how many shaves do you guys expect from one of those blades? I'm getting the stainless and a couple of the teflon-coated blades.

That will Vary between Folks..I personally Dump a Gem Blade after 4 or 5 Three Pass shaves..I like a Very Sharp Blade..They will Go a lot further & some folks use them for 10 shaves or more..:)
