This was the closest shave yet. A fair bit of irritation that may be remnants of damage from a few shaves ago. Still recovering from that one. No cuts, no weepers. Have a great weekend and a great shave!

I used my Futur Brush for the first time today. I'm still learning the best way, but this was a pleasing shave. I loaded it dry from a bloomed soap tub and the lather was too airy at first. I loaded more and it got thicker, but not quite to the level I'm used to with my HIS Lather Monster. It's a much smaller brush than I'm used to (22mm vs 28mm) as well. It felt very soft on my face. The razor felt a bit more rough than usual, so I reloaded the blade to make sure it was in there properly. The splash did not burn much, so all is well.

    Razor - Gillette Big Fellow
    Brush - Epsilon Horse
    Soap - Arko
    Bowl - Tinned Copper
Alum Block - Turkish natural Potassium Alum

Post shower shave. The Big Fellow turned out to be a nice surprise. Being a Gillette old style and made for thicker blades I anticipated either mild or overly aggressive shave. Was happily surprised with a spot on close shave with no nice/wheepers.
Finished restoring my newly acquired vintage Arrarex Caravel espresso machine. Brilliantly simple but effective machine.Helping son paint his bedroom. Good day all.

It felt really good to use my big Turkish horsehair brush again and it lathered up the Gillette Menthol cream beautifully. The menthol effect came up very strong, especially during my second pass. The Lucky Tiger a/s cream continued the chill as did the Alt Innsbruck aftershave splash. Today's shave was a very good and easy BBS! :happy088::happy088:

I won't answer for Melyus, but the L'Occitane's 'Cade' is one of my regular soaps in the rotation (see today's SOTD). Mild, pleasant scent and the lather is abundant. Not as super-slick & thick as MdC or Route 66, but still a top performer. :happy088:
