    Hi, no I've only been palm stropping them for now. I'm just using this method to see how it goes, before I try a leather strop. The first shave is very smooth in comparison to not stropping before use.

    Tried a cold water shave for the first time. Got a good shave. Can't say it was better, but it was better than I thought it would be. Took off the van Dyke; trimmed the mustache down to a pencil and kept the soul patch. Now I have more territory to shave. :)
    Tonight is the premiere of my production. I am pleased with the product. Driving home tomorrow and have 6 days to accomplish quite a bit before I am off to Natchez for the Music Festival. One more production of Bizet's Carmen with a completely new cast. 29 days away...:(

    I do the same thing with the Gem Coated blades. I only strop the blade for the first shave. Are you palm stropping for each shave?

    Yeah, every shave. Definitely makes a difference on the first run but I've noticed smoother results throughout. Considering I was getting five shaves before any stropping, I think nine shows it has some merit. Another member gets ten doing the same so it looks like I'm going for that too. It isn't giving me any indication it's blunting which I definitely knew towards the end of the fifth before.

    I will give it a try. I've been getting 10 shaves with each blade only stropping for the first shave.

    Yes just a couple on each side of the blade. The Gem blades seem harsh to me on the first shave. This seems to smooth them out.
