I not a computer scientist, just a redneck who's seen some stuff... But Tapatalk seems to leak memory and hog processor time if I don't back out and clear the cache periodically. For most purposes, it works well, but shows stability issues on a big screen Motorola platform.
Yes I do find I have to manually check more often to see what's been posted. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
I've seen the failure to update issue, that's probably the servers at Tapatalk and not the platform on our phones. My problem is that I compare it to the experience of being logged in to TSD on Safari/iPad over the natural Web. I vastly prefer the Web site. (again, just a redneck)
Yes the website is much preferred. I actually have my catalog of photos on my work USB drive thinking I'd just post up from there during downtime. Alas.....corporate blocks access to forum sites. I can watch YouTube but no forums. Go figure. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
Had a fantastic shave this evening! I decided that since I had a really good shave after following the advice of slowing down, and adjusting my angle. I did a four pass shave today, and it went so well, that I achieved the rank of lesser dolphin! No weepers either. No irritation. Not one single little bit of feedback from my Stetson tonight. Not a shred. That's a first. Now I know why y'all do this rule. Well, now, WE do this rule. Very excited to continue with this rule to learn all the nuances of this razor. I believe it might just be the one oh and the setting was H. guess my face likes patient aggressiveness Sent from my ASUS ZenFone 2E using Tapatalk
April 24 Fool's Pass It is Sunday, lots of shave time so I took out one my fav SRs and went for it. Did a super lather with AoS tallow and L'Occitan in the scuttle. The edge felts sweet, smooth and sharp. Did 4 passes and the Fool's Pass, everything felt good... but not sure why I did not nail this shave. There was a little feedback from the alum and just missed the baby. Anyway it is a gorgeous day today, perfect weather so went for a long walk along the river park before the crowds arrived.
I'm totally with you on that one (does that mean I am a redneck as well? ). Tried Tapatalk on my iPad, didn't like it. I think it doesn't offer anything that makes navigating and posting easier - on the contrary. Might have its use on a phone ... but I don't surf the web on my 4S, the screen is far to small for that.
Soap Focus A very nice face lather with TSD soap. SOTD TSD Barber Shoppe soap Doug Korn synthetic brush Mongoose Feather Pro Super (6) Thayers Witch Hazel TSD Egyptian Spice AS Have a blessed Sunday!
04/24/2016 Gem 1912 Damaskeene GEM PTFE (7) Rubberset 400 #3 with WSP HMW TSD Yin Yang Witch Hazel Fine L’Orange Whipped Shea Butter Another very relaxing with the 1912 Gem. I find this razor a joy to use since it is very smooth and efficient. Taking my time I ended with a BBS everywhere but just below my nose. I am getting there slowly but surely. Finished off with a splash of Fine L'Orange. I hope everyone has a blessed Sunday.
In American English, "redneck" is a term for an unsophisticated person from a rural area. What is the word or phrase for that in German?
I was following your commentary on stropping the blades. What is the typical lifespan for an SE blade?
It's a beautiful Friday in my universe. And it's a new blade in the razor. Staying in Russia, just moving to St. Petersburg. The Gillette 7 o'clock Sharp Edge, better known as the Yellow is on deck. Brush is the Vie Long 12705 and the Arko produced a great lather. This blade feels a bit "featherish". Very sharp but smooth. Two passes in and I noticed a nick on my right neck. Didn't feel it but I see it. Finished with touch ups for a nice DFS. Alum was warm on my neck and bit on the nick. Obviously this is a very good blade though I don't rate it with the Moscow blades. Well, maybe in the lower tier. We will see. Speaking of the Muscovites, here's the final ranking by preference. 1. Voskhod 1.5 Rapira Super Stainless 2. Sharp Star 3. Ladas 4. Rapira Platinum Lux 5. Rapira Chrome 6. Rapira Swedish Supersteel All of these blades are top of the line and the difference between them is razor thin. Yes, pun intended. Overall an excellent three weeks with these blades. My face needed that! A few more days on the Gillette side and then off to MAYhem!!! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
Yeah - I know that term Similar expressions in German would be "Bauer" or "Landei" - though both don't mean exactly the same. "Bauer" is the literal translation of "farmer" but can be used pejoratively as well, as a cussword for dumb and/or mannerless people. "Landei" is a little nicer and describes some guy from a very small village or rural area who doesn't know anything about how to survive in the big city. And then there's "Hinterwäldler" (meaning: from deep inside or even far beyond the woods) ... though i think that one's closer to "Hillbilly"
