  13. Great haul. Ive been procrastinating for a couple weeks now on placing my order. I cant decide and may have to order one of every soap:D

  14. Thank you. One of each would be ideal, but I guarantee that whichever you choose will make you VERY happy. The aftershaves are as good as their soaps too.

  15. I bought this 500A Pocket Edition Old Type on eBay earlier this month for the staggering price of 8 bucks. Today I finally cleaned it. The before and after is remarkable which is why I am posting it. There is a bent tooth and some imperfections but the result is a fully usable razor that looks great!

  16. I can see why they get mistakenly reported as being rhodium plated from time to time. My Senator is the same way. Absolutely flawless plating.

For years, I've always thought of the Fatboy as being the absolute best razor that Gillette ever produced, and figured the folks who raved about the quality of British Aristocrats were sad, deluded individuals, blinded by the beauty of the knurling.

This past month or so has really opened my eyes up to the quality of Gillette's higher end vintage razors and of course, the higher end British razors.

My No. 58 weighs in at 71 grams, about the same as my '34 'Crat. Both razors are more aggressive than any of the Super Speeds, but not as aggressive as a red tip. I had to rush the morning to get ready for church, so I didn't get a leisurely shave with the 58, but it was still a two pass DFS. Has a nice feel and good balance too. Worth every cent.
...and right up there with my Cooper MonoBilt and Open Comb Aristocrat as a favorite shaver.

  17. Wonderful find. I've always found the ABC razors to be pricy. Very nice!
