The Kamisori treated you the same it did me. Like you I was hoping for a lot more. No such luck. I appreciate your inspections with the loupe. But the Kamisori looks better than a Tiger?!?!?! Didn't know that was possible.

Cool. Just curious. They're both equally horrid in my experience.

So thankful I had a Voskhod nearby.. I knew it took a toll on me when the wife saw where I used it and said "What the hell happened to your face?!?" and not in the normal playful "Oh just ugly" way. I have half a mind to get a blow torch and dispose of these awful things so they can not hurt anyone ever again.

Voskhod to the rescue!! Everyone should have a Voskhod under glass nearby in case if an emergency. Not sure the Bailis would melt. It takes a better grade of steel to do that.

A great shave this morning to start the work week. TheDK7 whipped up the Tiki into a rich slick lather with very little effort. I continued with my usual 2 pass shave, XTG & ATG, followed by some minor touch ups. The results would have been a perfect BBS if not for one spot on my neck. I am still pleased with the near BBS results. Finished up with a splash of F&C Shambala. I hope everyone has a great Monday.

    Menthol Monday

    Prep: Warm shower
    Blade: Polsilver Super Iridium
Razor: Maggard MR1 handle with V2 open comb
Brush: Satin Tip 'The Purest' synthetic
    Lather: Proraso Green shaving soap
Post: Witch hazel splash, TSD SubZero after shave, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

    Cold water 3.gif

Quick one pass with touch-up shave this morning. My beard growth was very light after a close shave yesterday afternoon. The Proraso Green whipped up quite nicely in little time with the Satin Tip brush. Face lathered and commenced shaving. First time use with the Polsilver blade and first impressions are positive! Seemed smooth and sharp. I enjoyed it.

TSD SubZero splash continued the menthol theme. It's a nice complement to Proraso Green. Nice shave in the end. Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Beautiful shave. I really enjoy CF Sherlock as its slick and protective. The GSB is a good solid blade. The Blackbird is a joy to use. I really love my new brush that @theFAT98 was kind enough to send me, its the perfect fit and size for me. Gotta love the old school look.

    Arko April in Russia

Monday morning and I dug out my ancient and obsolete Android tablet to try and avoid Tapatalk for a bit. It's working but fast it's not. Any typos you find are purely a result of the in screen keyboard and the lag. But, it's doing what it can.

Day two with the Yellow and also head shave day. Started with the head and finished with the face. The WW brush is foolproof with Arko and the blade felt smoother than day one. Very nice. Two passes and a touch up and I say BBS. It just made it past the line. I've never found a Russian blade yet that I couldn't mak work......other than the Gillette Rubie. Very nice shave today. If the price difference wasn't as much as it is between these a d the Muscovites I'd buy bulk.

Finally some news from the meathads. They were apparently rescued by some surfer dudes near L.A. and are now headed East. I told them to go through the valley in California to make good time. They sent m a pic of their truck. I have a bad feeling I should have specified WHICH valley. :angry032:

A month with my Schick Type F

I’ve ended my month with the F early because I’m convinced that I can’t get any better shaves than I experienced with it and the Feather AC for the past three shaves, except through prolonged regular use.

But my year-long goal was to get through all my injectors beginning with a march through the Schick alphabet. I’ve done the Schick C, D, Es, and F. I still have G through N to go! :scared011:

(There is a rare ‘Type O’ which I do not have, if anyone has any leads…) :smiley respect:

    Hot Shower
    Razor:1946-55 NOS G4 Schick 66 Navy
    Blade: Schick (China) (1)
Soap: Route 66 - The Black Pearl
    Brush: Stirling Kong
    TSD Witch Hazel
    AS: Stirling Island Man

    04-25-16.JPG

Two-day growth. Three-pass shave - WTG, XTG, ATG

First shave ever with this NOS Schick '66' G4 that I found boxed at a flea market in a small town on the Oregon coast last October.

Wow, very smooth easy shave! I am convinced that with decent shaving skills and some focused work, most any of the Schick / Eversharp will give decent to great shaves to any shaver. I’m proof that anyone should be able to do it.
    (ok, ok…YMMV)

    Cheers!
