1. I haven't picked up any TSD products yet, and I'm thinking about placing an order for some Witch Hazel soon. Since it isn't available in samples, I'd like to get some opinions on scents from some folks who have used TSD products.

Some of my favorite (and least favorite) scents are listed below. Based on those lists, what would you recommend? Obviously, @Queen of Blades will have extra weight added to her input...

    Like:
-Green Irish Tweed (GIT) and related scents. I have a bunch of different takes, and I enjoy them all.
-Aventus. I have a couple of soap clones, and I really like this one as well.
-Sandalwoods. I typically enjoy them most when mixed into something else, like with Bourbon Jungle.
    -Clubman Original

    Don't care for
    -Juniper
    -Pine
    -Bay Rums
    -Citronella
    -Mint
    -Tobacco

    Thanks,

  2. Bourbon Vanilla came to mind first.

After reading the notes for Aventus, Oakmoss Sandalwood came to mind. Not because it's similar, though. Just, you said Sandalwood and Oakmoss is one of Aventus's notes.

  3. I do like the Oakmoss too. I have a Ginger's Garden Oakmoss soap that I picked up in a PIF that I enjoy. Thanks.

  4. Yup, the Oakmoss Sandalwood is nice.
Sounds like you would like English Fern, as well.
I'm a big fan of JoAnna's Cedar Wood, too.

  5. Maybe I'll pick up some cologne samples along with the Witch Hazel. I can't pick up any soap or aftershave yet. I'm on sabbatical this year. The Witch Hazel is an exception because it treats my folliculitis, which I struggle with even when I don't shave. But cologne isn't shaving related...

  6. Burmese Woods is really nice.
  7. I thought that was a bit sweet, but that's why I really hesitate on suggesting scents - every person is so unique on likes/dislikes.

  8. So very true. :happy088:
  9. Lime and mojito. But, you probably won't want the mojito as it has mint in it.
  10. i will second the "a bit sweet" on the burmese woods. i'll still use every last partical of it, though.

both oakmoss sandalwood and cedarwood have been on my TSD "to try soon" list for a little while now ... as well as the various 'rose' scents
  11. Love the rose scents!
  12. I'll probably pass on that one. I'm not a fan of Stirling's Margarita's in the Arctic, and haven't been very enamored of any of the Lime scents I've tried thus far.
  13. Oakmoss Sandalwood is a very nice scent, but is on the sweet side of Sandalwoods IMO.

My favorite TSD scent so far has been Polynesian Red, a wonderful fruity type of scent.

  14. As others have said, English Fern is a good one. It's a pretty classic Fougère scent.
  15. I make my own witch-hazel I go to the health food store buy some essential oils an experiment.... now I don't want to take away from TSD so I will probably be ordering some of your soaps very soon
  16. TSD Bourbon Vanilla is a winner! I like the Egyptian Spice as well.

  17. Oakmoss/Sandalwood would likely suit you. I really enjoy the TSD iteration of "Barber Shoppe" very much also.

  18. Powdery, lemony, or lavender? Those are the primary notes I get from the Barbershops I've tried so far.
  19. Not lemony....I am really bad at this...powdery/lavender goodness!
  20. Ever tried Mike's or Stirling? Is it close to either of those?
