It's got the Eversharp/Schick stamp around the rivet. I would have thought it was a G1. Of course the Canadian patent numbers never changed from E to G so we can't use that criteria. Let me know as your expertise on these matters is certainly greater than mine.

After the Eversharp take over the Type E s were Discontinued in the USA after they Introduced the Type G 1..The Type E Injectors were Continued to be made in the Canadian Plant with the Eversharp Stamp..To my Knowledge the G Types were never made in the Canadian Plant..They continued to make the Type E s with the Eversharp Stamp..:)

So I guess what you're saying is that they never changed the head manufacturing at the Canadian plant, so after the switchover, besides the stamp, just the handles changed. One just went on ebay in a lot of four (but someone had forced it open) that had a silver head and navy handle that I thought was a Canadian 66 but I guess it was an E4?

    Thanks for the response.

I have a question on SE blades suitable for stropping. I know the old type ever ready and the likes, without the notches are good for that. What about the old micromatic and Star blades with cutouts and the tooling marks on the blade.

I found some at a junk store, but I do not want to get them if they are not the proper stropping blades.

Thanks for the advice in advance.

Cue the Rocky theme song. It'sss Shhhhhaaaaavvvvve Night at the Den! Yes, the boiling point was finally reached as the tension between The Hussy and the new comer Purple PAL Injecto Matic spilled into the open. The Den was packed. All the celebrities were out. Spotted in the crowd was the Type F taking his seat on the shaving stand for a bird's eye view.

First up was the newcomer, the Purple PAL IM hailing from Great Britain. He came out of his corner whacking whiskers with ease, showing no fear. Wow, he was really looking good. Then the Hussy leapt into action. The crowd let out an audible gasp at the smooth moves she put out. Quick and easy were the only way to describe how she moved and the short work she made of the stubble. The judges were impressed. Oh wait, what's that, it looks like the newcomer left a weeper - a wee one but a weeper nonetheless! Well, this is getting interesting. The scoring cards from the night show the judges gave a very slight advantage to the Hussy on the first pass reduction as well.

The bell for pass two sounds and the Purple Brit moves into full stride. Moving across the grain he sweeps the lather and beard clean. No errors here and the crowd is roaring. Now the Hussy comes out and does the same. It seems she moves with grace and power with the greatest ease. She is giving no quarter to the newcomer. If he wants to win he's going to have to give the shave of his life. Second pass reduction showed the contestants dead even. But the judge's notes show some points being lost by the Hussy for excessive clogging. :duel:

And now the final pass. The Hussy comes out first and continues her reign of whisker terror. Moving against the grain she easily gets in close beneath the chin. No drama, just sweet shaving at its best. The Purple Brit is not giving up. He comes out and shows he is made of stern stuff. He works harder at the jawline and beneath the chin but gets the job done. Whew, this is going to be close. Both razors move in for wet touch ups. Wow, they slide across the face searching for every last whisker in what looks like a mad dash. It seems the Purple Brit is finding a few more stragglers than the Hussy. The final round scoring shows dead even again on the final reduction. But, once again, the Hussy is getting sidelong glances for the extra time spent cleaning up between strokes. :scared003:

The crowd is going wild as the judges delay and consult. Clearly there is a problem with the scoring and decision. They decide to call in the Alum block for his card. But, alas, this doesn't resolve a thing as his findings are even-Steven. Now the crowd is outright boisterous and getting out of control. :kar:

Now the referee steps into the ring for the announcement. Here it comes. Smoothness goes to the Hussy. A cheer goes up from the crowd. Overall reduction a tie. Groans from all around. Penalty point against the Hussy for clogging delays. Again, the crowd roars. And a penalty point against the Purple Brit for the first pass minimal weeper. The shave-off goes to the Hussy!!!

At this point fights break out in the crowd and the din is broken by the referee announcing that it's been decided this is a best of three competition. No title is awarded tonight. Vegas is thrilled, the crowd pumped, and the dolphins jealous. Left behind is one super-smooth-face-rubbing-goodness mug. And that's the tale of the night - one no-holds-barred thriller. :happy036:

Post-script. The final word goes to my wife who tested each side and proclaimed the Hussy's side smoother. The judge's got it right after all. :D

It is hard to reply with tears in my eyes. That is the best write up ever. I think i will be giggling all night.

You have given me the motivation to do a side by side this weekend. The hard part will be not shaving for 48 hours.

    Great story Karl

Been a week or ten days since I haven't been able to get my phone and laptop to talk to each other. So I can't post a photo of my latest find, but I found a single picture of an identical unit online.

    Schick Injector M12.jpg

While the metal part is similar to my J1, it is slightly different. Silver rather than gold. The embossing reads "Schick" instead of "Schick Safety Razor" with a crown like symbol. On the bottom stamped "PATENTED" & "M22".
The top of the handle is smooth, the bottom has fine grooves with a squared edge profile and a slight downward curve. It has a white handle with a red and a blue stripe running down the top. My guess is manufactured on or before 1976 because of the patriotic color scheme. Am I close?

I didn't see on this website the correct one. Type M's are all adjustable, mine is not.

Help me Obiwans, you're my only hope!

Today's shave was in honor of the late Charles Roberts. Method shaving with Hydrolast still gives some of the smoothest shaves I have ever had and the Pal Adjustable seems like it was made to be used with it! If you never gave Method shaving a chance when Charles was still living you still can. Just buy yourself a cube of Marseilles soap and a bottle of Jojoba oil and get shaving. Make sure to watch some of Charles' Youtube vids first and enjoy listening to a man who devoted a large portion of his life to our mutual hobby:happy088:

Rick you have what I believe is a 1970s vintage Schick L7. It's very similar to the one I have below.
I've seen it referred to as the Schick Championship, with reference to the Olympics...perhaps '72 or '76.
I bought three of these a few months ago, that were made in Holland. I shaved once with one of them and the included Dutch made blade - heaven!

I've heard the Obiwans around here advise owners of this L class to use the Schick NOS Twin blade in it for a really great shave...which I plan on doing sometime soon.

Here's a quick reference below that I found online.
    Cheers!
