Yes, indeed and I have its ugly brother as well. I am thankful to the Canadian who let this pristine beauty and two other vintage NOS straights go to me.
Fourth & final consecutive day of C-MON shaves—saving the best (or at least, my favorite) for last: C-MON HF…
Well, I picked up a straight for the first time in over six months and used it today on a four day growth. I used a Torrey razor, Cella and my Tweezerman brush. Here is a pic of the razor. It is a 5/8's with barber's notch. One of the only few i kept when I put them away and went back to DE. Now I didn't have any strop so I was hoping the razor was still sharp enough to get the job done and I think it was. Not too much tugging but granted I did have quite a bit to take off. I did two full pass and a cleanup pass (wtg, xtg and atg the opposite way for cleanup). Shave was good, not BBS but I didn't expect it. I was just happy that I didn't get any cuts/nicks and the little technique I had somewhat came back to me so I was able to shave and not feel overwhelmed. All in all I will call it a win. I will try the Torrey again soon with less growth and see how it shaves. I hope it isn't too dull as I have nothing here to fix it if it is, no strop or barber's hone or whatever. As always, comments are always welcome. It has been along time since I have been on here too. Just trying to stay busy and just shaving! Nothing exciting to chat about til now! LOL

Well, you will definitely need to get a strop and at least some chromium oxide paste to keep the straight razor ready for shaving.
My beloved Dovo Bismarck 2 is back in the house. The pin kept getting loose so I sent it Glen, @gssixgun to be repined and to be honed. Come back with a nice tight pin and an amazing edge.
Today I used my AW Wadsworth. Two passes and I got a great shave. I think I'm somewhere around 30 or so shaves with an SR now and I feel that I've finally gotten to a point where I'm getting consistently good shaves. I still have much to learn as today I accidentally shaved the tip of my finger. Ouch!

This morning I used the same setup as yesterday and got another DFS. I really like the weight of this razor. It's heavier than my others and that seems to help me with my shaves. I made sure to keep my fingers out of the path of the oncoming blade today.
