    A very nice, if misguided, plan. Gotta love it! An Old Type and Baili?!?! :shocked003: You, sir, are a steely eyed razor man. Or a complete idiot.....we'll let the boys in the band vote on that one! Whichever it is, you make me proud. It's like you're the Jesse to my Walt. Love it.

    May 30-Day Focus

    It’s Hydro-Magic May! (I'm steering clear and giving a wide berth to all this "Mayhem" stuff!)

    I’ll spend the month with my three Schick Eversharp razors that sport the Hydro-Magic shaving/cleansing head.
    As it worked out, I’m lucky to have one from each of the three different Types that sported the H-M function: Types I, J and K.

    1955-1958 Schick Eversharp Type I2 (Black handle, center)
    1958-1964 Schick Eversharp Type J3 "Golden 500" (left)
    1962-1968 Lady Eversharp Beauty Razor Type K1 (NOS) (...and no wisecracks about using a girls razor. I'm very confident in my manhood sister!) :kar:

    I think I’ve read somewhere that the heads on all the Hydro-Magic razors were the exact same design. I’ll look to hear from experts otherwise, but if so, it will still be interesting to experience how the shaves vary due to differences in other facets - weight, handle length and handle shape.

    My May focus will be straights and trying to achieve the epic shaves I get with a 2011 R41. The MAYhem part is to improve my technique pain sticks will be A regular feature since they point out every short coming with blood.

    My focus for May.....

    I too will steer clear of MAYhem! I am taking a plunge of sorts and devoting May to straight edge razors, specifically my Schick G1 injector (courtesy of @clint64) and a GEM Featherweight (courtesy of @DDuckyMark).

    My plan is to use the G1 during the week and the GEM on the weekends. I will use Chinese Schick blades for the G1 and GEM carbon or stainless for the Featherweight. I really enjoy these razors when I use them and think a whole month with them will be quite enjoyable.

    Soaps schedule/rotation:
    Mondays - Proraso Green or M-bombed soap for Menthol Mondays
    Tuesday-Thursday, Saturday - Freedom shaving bar from Boll Weevil Soaps, an artisan maker in Enterprise, Alabama. My wife gave me this soap as a birthday present. It looks to be good.
    Fridays - Fat Fridays with Mitchell's Wool Fat, or Freedom soap.
    Sundays - Shave Den Sunday with TSD products.

    I look forward to using a lot of one soap in this month (Freedom soap) and getting back to using MWF a little bit too.

    I'll keep my 8 brush rotation, but I'll stick with a TV Special, Feather blades, Cella, Alum and Master's Bay Rum. The Old Spice bottle is for the bay rum, the label is a bit smudged.

    I think me and you will do enough damage to ourselves for everyone. Like you said last night we are on the fine line of guts almost crossing over to stupidity..

    Pain stick just arrived this morning... now to decided between the Old Type with a Bali or Pain Stick with a Feather to kick off MAYhem..

    No Mayhem for me, my May focus will be easy. Going to stick with the Mongoose and AlumiGoose during the week. On weekends I will continue with the Gem and add other razors that interest me at the time. For brushes I am going to rotate through the ones I enjoy the most. My goal on soaps is to finish the TSD Yin Yang and the MW Lavender or Tiki Cabernet. I do have a order of 2 soaps coming in from MW and will place an order with Route 66 late next week.
