Day 2 with the Bunny razor - and day 1 with my new Simpson brush ;)

    2604.jpg

I have to admit: I was a little disappointed this morning. Barely any stubble, my face felt still pretty smooth from yesterday's shave ... so no shaving today? :( In other words: The Bunny is almost as efficient as the Mühle R41 or the Merkur Futur - so great job here, Tom.

Well, I decided to shave anyway despite the fact that it wasn't really necessary, Switched to the "wild" comb today - changing the combs is easy enough, no problems at all.

AND I thought ... this is a pretty unusual razor, so why not try an unusual grip? So what works really well for me with the Bunny WTG and XTG is holding it like this:

    haltung1.jpg

    haltung2.JPG

Great control and manoeuvrability this way :happy088:

The shave itself was similar to yesterday's - very smooth and efficient. But I don't think there was much of a difference between the "wild" and the "notso" comb. Except maybe a little more acoustic feedback today. Two passes, one WTG, the second one A/XTG ... my face feels almost as smooth as glass. I definitely won't have to shave tomorrow.

Thursday, May 28 - third Bunny razor shave

    2804n.jpg

    The setup:

    - Mitchell's Wool Fat
    - Simpson Commodore (held by Lemmy the sheep)
    - Bunny Razor
    - Personna blade
    - Tüff sensitiv Rasierwasser

I skipped shaving yesterday - would have been pointless considering how smooth my face still felt ;)

So today I changed the comb again and chose the "mild" one. And while this configuration works as good as the other two combs I actually like it the least. I prefer (and pretty much rely on) some acoustic feedback and that's what the "mild" comb lacks. It is very silent and you don't feel much of the blade.

But to my surprise it works on a similar level of effectiveness as the "notso" and the "wild". So instead of the usual WTG and ATG passes I did just a WTG and XTG in order to avoid the Baby. Got a DFS this way and still get to shave tomorrow.

One minor quirk I noticed though (and others have stated this before me): I usually don't let the water run while I shave. I just fill the sink and rinse my razors there. That doesn't work very well with the Bunny, you actually have to use running water to remove the soap from between the teeth of the comb.

I'll switch back to the "notso" comb tomorrow and try a different blade - I'll probably use a Twin blade then.

    Have a great day :happy088:

Hello TSD - Shave 4 with the Bunny razor:

    2904n.jpg

    - Barrister & Mann Fireside
    - Simpson Commodore
    - Bunny razor "notso"
    - Schick Twin blade
    - Tüff sensitiv Rasierwasser

Blade change today was a little more difficult than the last one. Had to wiggle quite a bit before I could get the Twin blade in - looks like a pretty tight fit.

The shave with the Schick blade might have been even smoother than the last ones with the Personna. And I think it was a little more efficient as well. Chased the baby again today - and caught it easily ;) Two passes, first one XTG, second one ATG, a few additional strokes along the jawline - squeaky clean :happy088: I don't even think about grip and angle much any more ... it comes pretty natural now. And one thing that really surprised me: Zero burning sensation from the Aftershave - nothing, zip, nada, rien.

Considering the smoothness of my face I'll skip shaving tomorrow, so I will have one last Bunny shave on Sunday before I send the razor to Karsten.

    Have a great day :)

May 1 - my 5th and final Bunny shave :(

    bunny.jpg

    - Barrister & Mann "Roam"
    - Jayaruh #58
    - Bunny razor ("notso")
    - Feather pro Artist Club blade
    - Tüff sensitiv Rasierwasser

For my last shave with the Bunny I took @twhite 's advice and loaded the Bunny with a modified Artist Club blade. Cutting it to the correct length was easy ... more difficult was putting the modified blade into the dispenser and loading it into the bunny without damaging the blade edge.

BOY what an amazing shave ;) Even closer and smoother than the last one with the twin blade. The usual 2 passes (WTG and ATG), a few touchup strokes ... the result: another effortless BBS shave! My impression: You have to be a little more careful with the Feather blades and make sure you shave without using any unneccessary pressure. With this configuration I think the Bunny is on an efficiency level similar to the Mühle R41, but much smoother especially ATG.

Again no irritation, no cuts or nicks and just the tiniest bit of burning sensation from the Aftershave Lotion :happy088:

So after one week with the Bunny I have to say:
Thank you, Tom, for creating such an amazing razor and for giving us the opportunity to use it.

The bunny is a beautiful and at the same time very efficient tool, a razor that stands out from the crowd. You might need a day or two to familiarize yourself with it, but then it rewards you with close and pleasant shaves.

Would I change anything? Maybe ... I think I might prefer a head with a little lower profile. As I mentioned before - the head design makes it a little difficult to determine where the blade edge is and to shave around my goatee. And I would forgo the mild comb in favor of an even wilder one than the "wild".

Oh and - I like the handle and don't think it's particularly slippery, but I'd love to try the Bunny model with the different handle design:

    handle.jpg

I really hate that I have to let the Bunny go ... but tomorrow I will clean and polish it (the copper part tarnishes quickly) and send it to Karsten.

    My final verdict:

The Bunny is on its way to Karsten now :(

Today I shaved with my Alumigoose ... and have to say: I like the Bunny better. Loaded with a feather Pro blade the Bunny shaves closer but much smoother. Equipped with a Feather Super Pro the Mongoose catches up in terms of closeness but the shave is far less pleasant.
