The @mrchick shave is in and will be reported later tonight. The fact that I'm still typing should give you hope. Tomorrow's shave will be the @Norcalnewb shave and here is the lineup: Blade - Laser Ultra (never tried this blade before) Razor - Aristocrat Soap - Arko Brush - VDH Boar The VDH brush is persistent so far. And the second time on Arko as well. The biggest issue again is the blade. I have no experience with it so no idea what to expect. Ok @Mr. Freeze93 , Saturday is your day. I need numbers. 1-15 for blade, 1-15 for razor, 1-6 for soap, 1-7 for brush. Happy Friday everyone!
Thank you Kerry. I am so glad it's Friday. With any luck I will get a motorcycle ride in tomorrow which should help clear my head. I hope you have a great Friday as weekend as well.
Kerry, now that you have several of the latest batch of synthetic brushes, which is your favorite? I say this one really looks great.
Well, it's an Indian blade so that's something of a good sign. The reviews I can find seem mostly positive, so tomorrow might be a good day.
Fair enough... I think my concern was that I was doing the equivalent of fixing bad cooking through a liberal use of MSG.
Yeah. Malhotra is the company I believe. Vidyut is more well known but I'm not totally worried. And the Aristocrat.....perfect razor to try a new blade in. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk

My technique on Marvy might be a two-handed, reverse drop step, slam-dunk into the nearest trash receptacle... (The answer to your question is "sort of", though one might argue defective.)
I'm not going to let it stop me. However, I'm flying to Chicago today for a funeral and didn't have the time or the inclination to try and straight shave around my big gaping wound from Wednesday so I shaved with a DE today. My Dopp kit has a DE, so I'm not back to the straights until Monday. Thanks for the encouragement!

I knew it wouldn't get you down. my true advice would have been to take out your most daring DE and have a few shaves with it before going back to straights, but seems you're going to do that anyway... ..not that i know what I'm talking about. I've never tried a straight before. I'm very jealous of you guys. You're all a cut above guys like me. (Oops, bad choice of words there. damn, i keep stepping into it. i better go now before i make it even worse....
