  2. Some May goodies….

A nice haul from one of my favorite soap-makers….New pucks with matching aftershave balm.

An old (circa 1830-1845) straight razor from George Wostenholm.

This 3/4" blade has a unique double bevel on half the spine.
Also one of the razor's owners inscribed the scales with, I presume, his name: "J R Parrott, Con 50" ('Connecticut, 1850', perhaps. Who knows?)

  3. The Lumberjack is awesome! :happy036:
  4. That, I like a lot. What a wonderful present.
  5. This is the silvertip I ordered from The Golden Nib. It came in just three days. That is a record for any knot from anywhere. It is a 24mm knot destined for an Olivewood handle that will go in my son's state room on board the USS Gerald R. Ford. I'm still waiting on the Olivewood handle.

  7. I'm away from my regular stomping grounds. Got out and visited a quaint old downtown area, several flea markets yielded up a couple nice pieces.
A Hull Pottery Old Spice mug of the version 3 type. These were made between 1944 and the early 1950s, the last before switching to glass.
Also picked up a couple $2 pucks of The Vermont Country Store Apothecary shaving soap. The scent is labeled Lime Musk. From their website,
"Our Vermont-made shaving soaps have six soothing ingredients..."
In the details/ingredients they list more than 6 components. I wonder which are the soothing ones, and if the other 7 are less than soothing. Only a test shave will tell.
I did pass up an early Gillette DE TTO and 4 straights. Someone had been using the bay as a price guide.
  8. Guys my Pal Injecto-Matic came in, will shave with it tomorrow and post up on the SOTD! Thank you for the tip @Karl G!:happy036::git:

  9. I do like that handle. I'm sure that it will change the feel of that 1912. Not necessarily better or worse, just different feel I bet. Let us know of your results.

  13. Roby, you sure have seemed to get the injector or straight edge bug here recently! That's awesome! I enjoy them too. Good luck, I'll be looking for your post with the Pal tomorrow morning!
  14. Thanks Perry! You're right, I have, they are so much fun and provide great shaves. I'm very excited to try this Pal especially after all the good reviews. :)
  15. Not in my possession yet, but I'm anticipating a new to me soap sample in an interesting ceramic bowl.

From our well known member @ aelfred.t.allspa 's "A soap PIF" a Razobrite disinfectant dish with a sample of Stirling Mountain Man soap. The soap scent is inspired by Creed Silver Mountain Water cologne. I haven't smelled the particular scent, but the description sounds great!

A blend of bergamot, orange, green tea, black currant, Galbanum, musk, sandalwood, and petitgrain.
  16. Had the very fortunate Chace to stop by the west coast shaving shop in chino hills, CA so I picked up a few goodies.

  18. You know, I originally typed the same thing... Convict, 50 years! Then I felt ashamed of myself and took it out.

Thank you Salty Belle for saying what I was afraid to say!
  19. Can't ever figure out how to post photos on here, but I just picked up my first old spice mug. "Shulton 42" on the bottom, and the ship is the grand turk.
It came with some gardenia soap. The soap has no smell as of right now, but I'm sure once it blooms it will be wonderful.
Edited: as soon as I figure out how to post pictures I'll add them
