Mayhem shave number 3. Union Cutlery KA BAR razor Boar brush Jabonman soap and aftershave So far this month, I have used a DE, an injector, and a straight. Rotating through all my soaps. Great shave today. Just shy of BBS. While I appreciate the ease and speed of the Safety razor, there is nothing like using a straight. It's also easier to line up my facial hair with a straight. 2.5 passes, and I really enjoyed the scent of this soap. Jasmine. Easy to lather, great performance, and awesome post shave feel. Another of my top five soaps.
Thanks Clint! It's a tad shorter than the bomber and lighter, I feel I have better control with the MR20.

I haven't been able to shave yet today. I'll be going back to the Gillette Rubie today. I think I posted that it was the Ruble last time. My oops. I've been working a lot of hard hours and my brain is tired.

Monday Morning Focus Shave I shave late yesterday so it has not been long enough between shaves to go for a BBS. Did 3 1/2 passes with my big Hart Steel 7/8. No blood, no Mayhem, no irritation but just DFS. The edge is feeling a little rough so it is time for a touch up. Irritation A Closeness B+ Smoothness B Sharpness A
I am a couple of days behind, so this post covers days 6 and 7 of my focus. Both shaves were with my Frederick's Celebrated razor, which was a father's day gift list year from my lovely bride and kids. It is my sentimental favorite and a great shaver as well. Today, I also used a puck of TSD Interception @Queen of Blades sent me as a parting gift for the Monty Hall PIF last year. Great scent, I highly recommend it. The performance is also top notch. When it get to the end of the week, I'll post a little about the differences between my first two straights of the month.
I usually shave at night when I have more time and can concentrate on my technique. As usual it will be my Super Speed, Astra Superior Platinum blade, VDH soap, VDH boar brush followed up with some Nivea sensitive balm.
"Pain Stick" is a misnomer. I find a more accurate name for my Feather Artist Club SS, "The bloody wound stick". The culprit. But, do not be alarmed, they won't harm you unless you are overconfident and in a hurry
Ouch, I struggled with the SS but found the DX and CJB less bloody. As I always say if you are in hurry just the straight razor down and step away. Hope you heal quickly.
