A trade is okay (to me) because I exchange something for something else. As in I don't add stuff to my Den.
It all depends why you are in the NB. If you are trying to just quit bleeding money, I see nothing wrong with trades. If I was running low on soap, and could trade a razor for soap, I would do it and not consider it a fail. I could probably horse trade for two years and not spend a dime. In fact I might do that soon
My rationale and goal is not to put any additional money into gear. Trades do not introduce new money into the equation, so in my personal version of NB16, I think they are ok. Others may be playing by a more strict rule set. It had gotten to the point where I was just mindlessly buying razors, and decided to change paths.
I do believe I have learned the secret to making your software last longer. Try to use it faster. It will last forever when you are intentionally trying to get rid of it.
Any profits from the TSD store get dumped back into paying for the forum servers. Between that, the occasional forum raffle and donations, it's what keeps this forum operational and advertisement free. Vendors can choose to support the forum (buy their way in) or stay here for free by being active participants in the forum.
I understand that. But to me, it would be the same if I went on a diet and my friend has this candystore that's his bread and butter. I can't buy sweets, unless of course its from his store, then I could go nuts. Where's the diet then? Please don't interpret it as I'm not grateful for the opportunity to be able to write here. Those are two very opposite things. I just don't see no point in denying new soaps (sweets), unless its from TSD (my friends candystore).. same same. If I want to support, I can always donate. I don't think I break my NB by doing that
My good people of the Den - I've proved myself unworthy to walk the path of NB16. Feel free to punish and banish me - my shoulders will be able to carry the weight once Postman Pat has delivered my new best friend
