Yeah, it was getting harder to load my brush with a near empty tub, so I scooped out the remaining cream and loaded it into an empty deodorant dispenser. It is so easy to just apply it straight to the face and then face lather. I may just do that with other TOBS creams, too.

I just thought it would be too soft to rub on your face like that

Now cream from a tube is too soft for a stick, but this is just right. Tube cream, I put a dollop on my finger tip and spread it on my face and then lather.

    Razor - Aristocrat
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip
    Soap - Tabac
Post - Cold Rinse, Alum, Nivea

It's the @PLAla shave and other than the blade he treated me like royalty. Well, him and the shaving gods who are paying attention. Obviously lather was great with the Wolf and Tabac. I needed that to remind me what a top tier soap is like after so many days of Marvy. Arko helped yesterday, Tabac healed. That should be a commercial. I want the royalties. Obviously the Aristocrat is no problem. So what of the Dorco 300? The first time I used it was on the 6th when @mrchick set me up with it in the Soyuz 1. The problem with that setup, besides the crappy razor, is it's impossible to judge a blade in that razor. So today I hoped to find out more about the 300.

I'll keep it brief by saying that any problems with the first use of the blade were caused by the Soyuz. The blade was quite smooth and comfortable today for two passes and touch up. And, the irritation was very light at the end with the alum. Just a couple of spots on my neck where I did some serious touch up were hot. Other than that this turned out to be a nice shave in the middle of a bunch of "meh" shaves. I'll take it and hope for a few more.

Now, tomorrow it's the @Joe Babb shave with the aggressive 1918 Old Style which, by the way, I'm guarding from @Bama Samurai, @mrchick, @Mr. Freeze93 and the rest of that crowd who have been butchering vintage OC's to try their new style of "straight DE shaving". Nobody gets to mess up my 1918. I'll be putting the Laser Ultra in it which wasn't a great blade but not the worst. And I get to use the Wolf again which is a good thing........except it will be lathering Marvy. :angry019: Another day of trying not to smell myself afterwards! Hope you all had a great Thursday!

Staying with the wedge focus. Day 9 - this time with my Kampfe Star. I wish I could say something good about it other than it is over. OK, reduction was good but it wasn't fun getting there. I don't know if I blunted the blade or??? I'll try it with a different blade in a couple of days. :duel:

    Thursday Shower/Shave
    [IMG]
Shower- Noxzema facial cleaner, Dr. Bronner's All-One Hemp Peppermint bar soap
    Brush- RazoRock Plissoft
Razor- Muhle R41 on a Maggard MR5 handle
    Blade- Voskhod (1)
    Soap- TSD Tabac type
Thayers Witch Hazel with grapefruit EO
    AS- Florida Water with M-Bomb

I had a few goals for tonight's shave. I of course wanted a great shave and I got it. I wanted to try my TSD Tabac type soap to see the differences between it and the London type lanolin. More on that later. Finally, I wanted to compare my current favorite Personna Red to the Voskhod. The Voskhod is a great blade, I honestly don't know which I prefer. I have another day with it to try to decide but they are 1, 2 right now, I just don't know the order.

Regarding the soaps, I wanted to try my regular TSD soap and compare it to the lanolin. I really want to get the new TSD "Killer Queen" and I'm trying to decide which type to get. I think I prefer the lanolin soap, it seemed to lather easier and it was slicker. If someone could tell me what lanolin adds to a soap I would really appreciate it. I'm trying this soap again tomorrow to try and decide. Have a great day folks!
