SoS: May 9, 2016 - May 15, 2016

A great shave once again - this time with the regular MITA soap which lathered like mad with the help of my awesome Plissoft 26mm synthetic brush. The menthol effect kicked in soon after I started and it felt delightful as always. The Lucky Tiger a/s cream did a very good job of prolonging the chill, and so did the beautifully-scented Black Powder aftershave. I'm going to really miss it when it's finished!

I generally change my razor and blade weekly on Sundays. Clean up the old razor and select a new one. Today I am faced with the problem of deciding whether I will continue using my Schick or go back to a DE. Tomorrow is my "change" day and I have to decide. I have so many awesome DE razors, but I am getting such near-perfect shaves my my Schick. If I use the Schick I will clean it up with some Scrubbing Bubbles and a soak in soapy water and insert a new blade...even though this blade is still giving excellent smooth shaves. Decisions...decisions...

Today it was a typical Saturday morning shave...a bit more relaxed than during the week. No rush to get in and out and get lunches ready and breakfast on the table.

Doug this is my first time ever using a matching AS or Balm. The Frozen Margarita Balm is a match for the scent of the soap even down to the menthol. I really like the balm. It goes on smoothly and made my skin feel fantastic but not greasy in any way. We both know how the Route 66 soaps make your skin feel. The balm is like adding additional level.

Not my best SR shave today, but still pretty good. 2 complete passes (W and XTG) and a half pass (just the cheeks) ATG. A little tuggy in some spots, so maybe it's time to freshen up the edge a bit. Still waiting for the stropping paste to arrive though.

Yes sir! The owner was a college student and making the aftershave to support himself, now that he's graduated he's doing something else. He may make F&C aftershaves again in small batches,

 

Thank you. The bottle is a old Guarlain Imperial bottle. I found a box with 35 bottles of cologne & aftershave for $5, the Guarlain smelled so bad I had to dump it, but the bottle is cool, so I filled it with AV.

The Zoe's lathered up so nicely. Creamy, slick and left me very moisturised. Lather and texture reminds me of Van Yulay. It's a fresh, green, mossy scent...smells like a damp morning after a spring rain. Love it. Have a great Saturday everyone.
