Shaves of the week, 2 - 15 th

It has been a hellaciously busy week. Was traveling most of the week, and bouncing place to place, so that kind of sucks in terms of setting up the mobile den. Only took the time for a few shaves even, let alone posting.

I am still working on May-hem to the extent that my random lists get significantly smaller when I am traveling, and when I am hopping around hotels, it is going to be synthetic only for brushes. No real surprises there, but it is making me use some things I probably don't appreciate enough. It's fun.

    Tuesday Shave:

Hot day at work, so an all Glacial shower and shave was awesome. My Plissoft had been ignored for a long time. Good brush, tons of lather.

    Thursday Shave:

I love Electric Sheep. It is such an awesome scent, and the slipperiest soap I have ever used. A Shark SS came up in the drawing with the Rockwell. It was a super smooth shave, complete BBS, but uncomfortable as Hell. Reminds me why I don't use Sharks much anymore.

    Saturday Shave:

Not much to say here, but "Perfection". Love that brush, love that soap, and hands down my favorite razor.

    Great shaves, everyone.

    Razor: Maggard Head/ Generic handle
    Cream: Cremo Tube
    Brush: VDH Badger
    Pre Shave Oil: Homemade
A/S: Nivea Balm/ But Splas On

Strange shave, a razor I thought was really, really mild turned to be a little aggressive for me, got 4 or 5 cuts, not weepers. I will work with it the next few days to learn whatever ( the bulldog in me), some say bull headed, whatever. I eventually came out with a decent shave, maybe CCS+. 1st pass, WTG is where I got 3 cuts, but the razor moved smoothly, go figure. 2nd pass, ATG only one cut (pilot error), all in all , not bad but not good. Mildly satisfied.

What blade did you use? I would have guessed it would be the same head as the RazoRock which I find mild. Sure do love those old newspapers.

It's been a few times now that a I see a particularly nice razor and see that it is a Wolfman. That is a really nice razor. Would you consider it mild or aggressive?

How are you liking the PAA Big Shave Soap & Splash?

I wasn't sure If I would like Strawberry and Oud but it works for me and like formulation of his soaps over his original formulas when he using How To Grow a Mustache Synergy Label.

The soap is actually a good performer. I haven't decided if I like the splash scent yet. My wife kind of likes it.

I would consider it sort of middle of the road. I feel the blade more than a Merkur 34c or EJ89 but it's no where near a Ikon Tech. I find it to be very smooth and super efficient.

The first time I used it, months ago, it was so mild I couldn`t cut any whiskers at all, so I put it in a drawer. I pulled it out this morn. to double check if I should get rid of it and lo and behold it seemed a little on the aggressive side. Some of the cuts were like shave bumps, so I can`t really blame the razor. I have 3 small spots that almost always get sliced. I guess that`s why I like a mild shave and just do an extra pass. Oh BTW, the blade is a Personna super blue. Not one of my regulars. On the razor head, I bought it on the bay for cheap and they never specified a brand name, so your guess is as good as any.
I love to post those old papers, I have plenty, so they will last a long time. Thanks for your interest. Best wishes.

    Bill
