I'll just leave these blades here for the moment......... As a teaser for something that will be announced Sunday. You can guess if you want, but in the meantime at least you can enjoy the look and smell of some fine, fine Russian steel.
You've figured out a way to shave with all of them at once. I'm picturing a 2x4 with 25 blades stuck in. That would be MAYhem
05/14/2016 Wolfman OC with Triad Ti Feather (3) Rubberset 400 with Omega 49 Knot Route 66 Frozen Margarita Witch Hazel Route 66 Frozen Margarita Balm I have had some good to great shaves this week. However, the shave this morning is best by a wide margin. It was just one of times in which each element worked and raised the performance of the other products as well. The big boar whipped up a mountain of lather. The scent of the Frozen Margarita is truly exceptional matching the scent of a Margarita on the rocks as you take the first sip. There is the lime base with a hint of salt and in the background the Tequila all with a touch of the cooling menthol. Loaded the used Feather in the Wolfman OC and started to mow the stubble down. Loving the scent of the soap and the feel of the razor, I went with a traditional 3 pass shave followed by touch ups on my neck. This razor and blade combo is so smooth for me that it is almost cheating. I have never used a matching soap and aftershave or balm so today was a first. The Frozen Margarita Balm went on easily and left my skin feeling fantastic but not greasy in any way. I didn't think there was much room for improvement in the post shave feel when using Route 66 soaps but the balm certainly added an additional level. A job well done @Salty Belle . I hope everyone has a great Saturday.
Good morning 30 Dayers! It's Saturday so hop you enjoy the day. I'll be slinging beds all day long. The @Linuxguile shave is in the books and I'll report tonight. That brings us to the top of the Chosen Chooser list for @ob1page's second round of choosing. He used his address to pick the numbers and apparently his address likes me. Here is tomorrow's setup: Blade - Ladas Razor - 1949 Gillette Super Speed Soap - Tabac Brush - Tweezerman cheapo badger shedmaster I can deal with that. The Tweezerman isn't so bad it can't make a good Tabac lather, so I'll manage. Haven't used the '49 SS much, but I have the '47 and I love that razor. That means we move on for Monday's shave to @DDuckyMark. Choose away sir, you know the numbers. 1-15, 1-15, 1-6, 1-7.
Been really busy this week, and travelling, so I haven't had much time to post or even shave. I have been working with the May-hem as much as possible while traveling, and have learned/remembered a couple of things: I hate soaps and creams that turn my razors white. I used Speick cream the other day, and while it is a fine performer, my Rockwell looked like I had dunked it in a glass of milk and let it dry. I have decided I will be ridding my den of what's left of those soaps, so look for a soap/cream bundle PIF soon. None of them are what I think of as my top tier performers anyway, so I might as well give them to someone who will enjoy them. The other thing is that I put some blades into the mix that I only have a few of, or have shelved to try later, or keep around but don't seem to use much. I haven't been bloodied, but have had a couple of the most uncomfortable shaves I've had in a long time. Considering that I have four or five brands of blades I really enjoy in any razor, I should just clear out the rest of them too. The May-hem has gotten me to try out some combos I don't ordinarily just put together, and spend some time with things I know I like, but tend not to use. Straight Mayhem I'm excited to say I'm making progress. I did a complete pass with no irritation and was happy to call it done with a CCS. I think I'm starting to figure this out. Next to try ATG. May Focus Day 13: Stirling Synthetic Brush Queen Charlotte Fougere Henry Sears and Son Queen Stirling Unscented PSB Wholly Kaw Fougere Bouquet I have move to my Henry Sears this week, which has been another favorite. I received it as a gift this past January and instantly loved it. It is definitely a smooth shaver. This is one of my wider blades, but it still feels nimble. It gave me a great shave his morning on just a single pass and some clean up. I really enjoy the Queen Charlotte soap as well; the scent is almost as good as the performance. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.
When I need a fast shave on a morning I didn't shower, this seems to be my go to set up. Route 66 soap, injector razor, 28mm synthetic knot. Fast effortless shave, a DFS plus in two passes.
I've wondered about those Stephan aftershaves. Are they good? The bottles are enormous and they seem to be quite affordable.
