    Prep: Warm shower
    Blade: GEM PFTE Coated
    Razor: GEM Featherweight
    Brush: Vulfix 2006C badger
    Lather: VDH Luxury M-Bombed
Post: Witch hazel splash, Country Club 1837, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, XTG

Wow, what a redemption shave! I used the GEM razor last weekend with a stainless blade with terrible results. The shaves were most uncomfortable. Today's shave confirmed that the blade from last weekend was bad. This shave was great! The GEM mowed through a day and a half worth of beard with no problems. It felt smooth, comfortable, and great.

I bowl lathered the VDH with 6-7 drops of M-Bomb in my custom scuttle that was filled with ice water. The ice water and menthol all worked to great satisfaction. Rinsing with ice water after the first pass with the menthol felt amazing.

Two passes, ice water rinses, witch hazel, Country Club 1837 and Nivea all finished off a really nice shave. Unfortunately my wife doesn't like the 1837. Smells "aggressive and powdery" to her, so it's probably not a repeater for me. She approves of the Veg so I have to take my disapprovals seriously!

Have a great rest of the weekend everyone!

Brush: Deruitem Shaving 22 mm TGN Finest
    Soap: Route 66, Sweney Todd
    A.S.: Stirling Orange Chill, "Glacialized"

I am not really a guy in the market for new soaps, but after all the "press" Route 66 has been getting, last week I ordered some samples. After only one shave, I have to say this: The lather was pretty darn slick, and seemed voluminous. The scent was nice. It reminded me of Bubble Up pop, or moreso its equivalent from Pop Shoppe back when we were kids. Despite the name, I shed no blood. Considering it was a first time use, awesome soap!

Shower- Noxzema facial cleaner, Dr. Bronner's All-One Hemp Peppermint bar soap
    Brush- RazoRock Plissoft
Razor- Muhle R41 on a Maggard MR5 handle
    Blade- Voskhod (2)
Soap- TSD Tabac type and KMF mint with M-Bomb
Thayers Witch Hazel with grapefruit EO
    AS- Florida Water with M-Bomb

I had the weirdest thing happen during today's shave. I built a beautifully thick lather in my bowl with the TSD Tabac and thought "It's hot out, where's my M-Bomb?" I added 7 drops to my lather, gave it a few swirls to mix and my lather disappeared. There was nothing in the bowl or on my brush. It was as if I ran them under the sink. So I rinsed everything off and started over but my lather this time was lacking so I used a pump of KMF and added 10 drops of M-Bomb. Wonderful lather and I was perfectly frozen. Felt wonderful. The second shave with the Voskhod and it was as good as the first. Definitely top 2 this month sons with the Personna Red. As I write this I'm enjoying the Florida Water scent, I really like this cologne and you can't beat the price. Have a great day folks!

    Prep: Musgo Real orange amber
    Razor: Maggard MRG
    Brush: Maggard 24mm synthetic
    Soap: Beaver WoodWright- Philips Fougere
Aftershave: Henri Et Victoria- Cognac & Cuban Cigars

First of all, big thanks to everyone for making the Maggard shave meet a wonderful event. I have been looking forward to today, it was cool to meet other people with the same hobby, and to meet the people behind some of the products. I couldn't wait to check out some of the new gear, and luckily I had not shaved yet today. The razor had quite a bit of audio feedback, good weight, and a slick design. Also first time with the BW soaps, the scent of Philips Fougere is incredible, very well made scent. The performance was top notch, and whipped up a lather with no problem. Finished off with Cognac & Cuban Cigars, beautiful scent, and packs a nice hit of menthol. Hope everyone has a great shave!

On deck for tomorrow is a return to the Dusy Kabinett. I have been working on a better hydration of my lather these days. This was a test lather that I just did. My camera is poor and doesn't focus well, so the glistening lather is not showing up well, but trust Primo, it was nice. :)

Forgot the bowl in my photo. :)
Amazing shave this evening with the Tres Amigos Envy White brush. The Sweeny Todd whipped into an amazing lather. Sweeney Todd shaving soap is brimming with the aroma of delicious Sicilian blood oranges, with their signature spicy berry undertone, blended with a hint of fir, warmed on a rich woody base. The Route 66 Sweeny Todd after shave balm has the same amazing fragrance and is soothing on the face after a excellent shave.
The Schick G1 has been an excellent shaver all week. I would highly recommend I to anyone. Definitely a BBS today.

I see that Lanolin is featured on the Rte 66 "front cover". Lanolin was a part of the old Rise's, but they took it out when they reformulated Rise.

I would consider removal of the Lanolin a mistake. Our @Salty Belle would have a better explanation about the purpose of Lanolin in shaving soap. I'm sure it is part of what makes Route 66 soaps so good.
