I spent some more time yesterday evening honing up the Charles Adams "faultless ". After a countless number of passes on the 8,000 grit hone I bought along with this razor and 50 or so passes on the strop, I actually got a decent shave out of it. It's far from a perfect hone, but it's at a respectable level of sharpness now and is quite useable. There's lots of audible feedback from this razor and I got a DFS out of it this morning.
Today I used C-MON Blackie hand made 5/8 full hollow spike. Love this razor, wichedly sharp, and o so smooth.
I sure like that brush hidden down in the bottom of the photo @HolyRollah . My Omega boar is that style but it doesn't have near the Class your vintage Rubberset has. Ken P

Love these Panta Rei brushes and bowls! Do you find the bowl just kicks out the lather? I have actually had to start loading less when I use mine. The aerating ridges are doing their job in these bowls! Iwasaki
honed one like that fresh from the box today.was quite a challenge but got it to shave at last.had only 8k and 12k naniwas.will be fun to see hove it will perform over time.
Tonight I made myself a strop out of newspaper like one I seen on YouTube. I don't have a linen strop and they say this newspaper strop makes a good substitute. 25 round trip passes on the newspaper than 50 on the vintage Shell Horse Hide strop than shave. The results were fantastic. 3pass shave and cleanup with the Gem Damaskee SE and BBS. Very pleased with this razor. Tonights lineup. Words can not adequately describe my lust for this razor. I think it's the nicest of MW's work that I've seen, and he's made some truly awesome straights. He does clean, "modern" accents on a classic style in a way that others have tried but can not emulate. Keeping my eye on the website with high hopes!
