Mayhem by way of new gear. This shave included a new razor, brush I re-knotted, and a new soap. Typically, I would only do one new item at a time, but...

Razor was sold as shave ready, and I ended up with a DFS plus with almost no irritation, but it wasn't as smooth as I like. I think I am turning into a snob about my edges. Brush was reknotted a month or two ago, but I haven't used it until now. I was thinking I should try a badger that wasn't as floppy as my other one. I think I just like boar.
The star of this shave was the soap, The Shave Den, Purple Rain. I ordered two two ounce pucks and melted them into a container. @
Queen of Blades outdid herself on this one. Her description is below:
"In memoriam of one of the greatest musicians. His music brought happiness and joy to my life, and that is how I wish to mourn his passing. Fragrance is nature's music. There's a reason fragrance and music both have notes.
Fragrant notes for Purple Rain are; Lavender, Jasmine, Leather, Patchouli, Amber and Aquatic notes"

To my les than well trained nose, I got a clean, subtle, and complex mix of scents that unfolded, rather than slapped me in the face. Lather was very slick, and protected well. Scent didn't linger long, so this will be a good one when I am in meetings all day. If you haven't tried one of Joanna's soaps, you really should. That are high quality products that don't get enough recognition. Once I use up some of my aftershaves, I will get one from TSD to match this scent.
