Razor: Gillette Aristocrat Blade: Dorco St 301 (2) Brush: DFS LE w/Envy White #41 Soap: Route 66 Perfect Storm A/S: Lucky Tiger Bowl: Pottersong K O Shave Really treat today as I drove down to the mail box and found 2 new shave soaps from Route 66, Twisted Tweed, and Perfect Storm. Went home and labeled the side so I can see what soap I'm picking when they are stacked. The Twisted Tweed is a twist on the classic, unforgettable Green Irish Tweed fragrance. This crisp, fresh, sporty fougere opens with green citrus, bergamot, wild lavender and lemony verbena over a rich heart of geranium, fern and violet. Anchored with spicy, wood accords of cedar, musk, amber, frankincense and Mysore sandalwood. Perfect Storm is a brisk seas, rocky bluffs, damp earth and crisp, cool air just before the rain. A windward breeze carries green notes and soft florals of lily, jasmine, rose and violet over the sand. Earthy tones of sandalwood and cumaru seed balance this rich, coastal aroma. Both soaps Both soaps are handcrafted traditional shaving soap formulated for long lasting, slick lather protective cushion and glide, soothing post shave conditioning. Well done again Route 66. So I started with Perfect Storm and was not disappointed. It worked into an easy lather quickly and added to a DFS.
Well the plans may have already been killed... no money and SWMBO said something about embracing her inner Chuck Norris and roundhouse kicking me if I order any more shaving stuff.
MAYhem 17th, 2016. Razor: Old Type Head/ New LC Handle Blade: Super Max Super Platinum Tiger Brush: JR #23 Silvertip Brush Lather: The Fat Post Shave Care: Maggard Alum Block/ Thayers Medicated Superhazel Aftershave: The Veg @NCoxSTL ... I was the test dummy (emphasis on the DUMB) for these blades. Would I use one again after this shave? FOUL!!!! Flag on the play!!! These blades (maybe just this one but I wont try another to find out if this one was a dud) are a strange beast. I am BBS but my face looks like I bobbed for apples in a running blender. I whipped up the Fat into a great lather and applied it to my face. I start the first pass...make sure the angle is perfect and start my pass. The blade is about as sharp as a butter knife (felt like it anyway)... it tugs and drags the entire pass yet as I wipe away the lather there is no hair left behind... there is blood...but no stubble.. I got bit a few times (that always happens with the Old Type for me) but I am amazingly smooth. I am not sure what happened or why... the blade felt painful using it yet it destroyed all hair and skin in its path... Touch up a tiny spot on my neck and get bit but get the neck perfectly BBS. Alum stung and the Thayers felt great going on.. let the Thayers dry down and sooth the skin a little. Pour an unhealthy amount of the Veg into my hand and splash it on and light myself up like a Christmas tree... after the dizziness from the pain subsided I felt my face...puffy and torn up but BBS... I am so confused about what just happened... Neal.... Tread lightly with these blades...
On a scale of couch to run over in the driveway, please rate where you would be if someone sent you the blades and you didn't pay for them?
Probably somewhere between getting hit in the head with a frying pan or road kill.... couch or frying pan if I am lucky and prove to her if I didn't buy it... if she doesn't buy it I am packing up and moving to the Chernobyl disaster site where I will be safe..
Update: She said that is fine if I don't pay for it. Quote- "I don't care if you don't buy it but you have more shaving @$#& then anyone can use in a life time and don't give me the whole everything is different and no two things are alike speech they all do the same thing!!!"- unquote. And then I opened my mouth about her 50 +pairs of shoes and clothes....
