Next, let us know what you think of the G bar. I've been using my G bar all week and I love it. Smooth, close and comfortable shaves every day!

How do you like the JR brush with the synthetic knot . I've never used a synthetic knot before . I'm kinda curious to know how the performance is.

Good morning friends. First shave with the GEM G-Bar today. Awesome razor, very zippy and easy to maneuver. I went full throttle with this razor [IMG] This razor seems more efficient to me than the PushButton. Love it, my only gripe would be that I wish the handle was a bit grippier but that's not a deterrent in any way. This PPA CiderHouse 5 has become a top soap for me, smells of apple and cinnamon in a beautiful fashion and performance is outstanding. Dolphin smooth result with ease. Have a wonderful day guys. Prep: Warm shower
    Blade: Chinese Schick (7)
    Razor: Schick G1 Injector
    Brush: Omega 10049 boar
    Lather: VDH Luxury
Post: Witch hazel splash, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

The G1 again today, and.......nice, comfortable, smooth shave. This razor is efficient, easy to use, and provides great shaves day and in and day out. I've dialed in the VDH lather in combination with the Omega boar to get gobs of yogurty, shiny, beautiful lather that is slick and protective. I'm trying to use up the VDH and move on to other soaps but it's lasting a good while. It's only about $5 in drug stores and grocery stores - check it out if you haven't tried it.

I hope you all have a great Thursday!

It is really nice. It is very soft but not floppy. I face lather and it whips up lather really good. No soaking the brush, just swirl in water. Shake out excess water and you are ready to load.

The JR brushes are super reasonable price wise. You are getting a one of a kind brush. Well worth buying one.

This morning I had a bit of fun. :happy108: I decided to shave half my face with my Fendrihan DE and half my face with my Schick Type G. I would have to say it was a tie. Both shaved equally well, though the Schick seemed more comfortable and effortless. (My pic only shows the Schick, not the DE). I also decided to use the GFT coconut shave cream again. Such a nice product. A few swirls of the brush and it builds a thick creamy lather. Great lubrication. Post shave skin feel is wonderful. I find I don't need a moisturizing cream or balm post shave. I am pleased I have almost a full tub to work my way through over the coming months.

    Pre: Proraso preshave cream
Razor: Fendrihan DE / Schick Type G
    Brush: Semogue 1438
    Cream: GFT Coconut

Roby, that's a great write up and a fantastic photo. How'd you do that? Between the push button and the G bar, which do you like best?

    Inaugurale E1 Shave
    IMG_0861.JPG
I was anticipating an aggressive razor with a larger blade gap vs my E2/E3 as per @Billyfergie. I found the razor to be efficient but actually less aggressive than any E2 that I've shaved with. Don't know if it's due to the E2 being from a different factory (Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada) vs E1 made in the U.S.. The razor really shined on my most difficult area, the neck. Solid blade holding coupled with a thicker sharp blade meant no blade chatter and easily ploughed through the thicker coarser whiskers of my neck that grow in different direction. Smooth BBS shave leaving no burn on face and only minimal on neck. Splashed on some Thayers and felt no burn a sure sign of a smooth unharsh shave. Great shaving razor.

Here are some comparisons of the Schick E1 vs the E2.

Nice write up Perry. I always use the same puck every day till it's gone. My last puck of VDH went for 4 months! Great lather and $1.25 per month! You can't beat that.

Thanks Jim, it's a funny thing, I prefer the efficiency of the G-Bar but prefer the handle of the PushButton. The background you see in the photo is part 1 of 5 paintings that come together to make one. It depicts the dawn sky and ocean on my living room wall. :)
