May Focus Day 25: WD High Mountain Badger 30 mm Stirling San Antonio SS Wiss & Sons Stirling Unscented PSB Brut Classic AS I definitely like this razor. It is a great shave. I did one pass with some touch up and ended up with a DFS. The Stirling San Antonio was great with its unique scent and fantastic performance. I added a little Brut to finish up, and I am off to work. I hope everyone has a great day.
SOTD May 26, 2016 Injector/SE Focus Prep: Warm shower Blade: Chinese Schick (7) Razor: Schick G1 Injector Brush: Omega 10049 boar Lather: VDH Luxury Post: Witch hazel splash, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, touch-up The G1 again today, and.......nice, comfortable, smooth shave. This razor is efficient, easy to use, and provides great shaves day and in and day out. I've dialed in the VDH lather in combination with the Omega boar to get gobs of yogurty, shiny, beautiful lather that is slick and protective. I'm trying to use up the VDH and move on to other soaps but it's lasting a good while. It's only about $5 in drug stores and grocery stores - check it out if you haven't tried it. I hope you all have a great Thursday!
Hmm....not sure how that happened. I went back and looked at your list on the first page of this thread. Here's what I thought I was picking: Razor - 4 - Edwin Jagger 89 Blade - 13 - 7am High Platinum Soap - 3- Mitchell's Wool Fat Brush - 1 - Omega 10060 That's the order that you have it on your original post so I went with numbers that corresponded to those categories. Wouldn't you rather use this setup?!?!
Well remember....it gets randomized. All part of MAYhem. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
The @PLAla shave is in the books! To add difficulty, it was done in the dark thanks to some big storms that blew through and knocked power out at juuuuuusssssssttttttt the wrong time. Off to work. Will report tonight. Have a great day!
Straight Mayhem PAA Big Shave Soap AoS Pure Badger Brush Hien 650 Alum AoS AS Balm PAA Big Shave Splash Happy Thursday!
Ok I have a question for pre-shave using Noxzema. I've tried a pre-shave oil and that didn't seem to do much for me, so I picked up some Wal-Mart Branded Noxzema and was wondering how to use that?
I shave after I shower. I rub some Noxzema over my beard and try to not wash it off until the end of the shower. Some people just later over top of it. Give both a try. I think Noxzema works great as a pre shave.
MAYhem 2016!! May 26 Razor - Soviet Mladost II Blade - (4) Brush - Vie Long 12705 The Horse Soap - Marvy Post - Cold Water, Alum, Nivea, The Veg It's the @PLAla second round shave! Seems like it was about three days ago thanks to a very busy day. This weekend is just going to get crazier so my presence here may be sporadic but I'll stay up with you all as best I can. Hope your plans include going to your local Mattress Firm and buying a new Tempur-Pedic bed for yourself too! Or, just call me. I'll do the rest. Ok, shameless plug done. Not much to say about this shave except ouch. Not the worst by far, but I was glad to finish it up. The Shark blade probably shouldn't go four shaves. Well, to be honest, it shouldn't go at all with me. Can it produce a decent shave? Yes, especially when new. Is it comfortable to use? Not really, but again, there are worse. Far worse. Right @Mr. Freeze93 ? As uncomfortable and rough as this blade gets it still looks like a Voskhod compared to the Tiger. The razor, of course, didn't help. That Soviet engineering is just amazing...........amazingly bad. This razor looks like it would do a good job but, alas, it just isn't that high enough quality. It's better than any other Soviet DE I've used, but that isn't saying much. Add the tired and rough Shark to this blade and just shave as fast as you can to get it over with. I say that too, because Marvy was the soap. Now, the horse brush is pretty floppy and actually works pretty well with the Marvy. I would have to say that if I was to use Marvy as my regular soap (when I go completely senile) this would be the brush to use. It actually allows a pretty good lather to form and you have a bit more time before it fades completely away. I have also always thought that Marvy has pretty good slickness, it just doesn't last long and when it goes it leaves a dusty trail of dryness. The best part of this shave? When the alum cooled down from the roughness of it and the Veg took over with all its yummy goodness. And.....the Mighty Veg led to my best day of sales in a month! Just in time to start the biggest sale of the year for the company. There will be a LOT of Veg for me the next four days. With that rough and uncomfortable shave done it's time to look ahead to tomorrow and the @Joe Babb second round. I'll get back to you on that. random.org is currently down so I'm still waiting to see what we end up with. In the meantime it's time to holler for @Linuxguile to choose for Saturday! Give me those numbers!!
You could shave with that shark blade 1000 days in a row without changing it and on its 1000th shave it will still be better then a Tiger on its 1st shave.
Well, random.org is back up so here comes the @Joe Babb second round. I'd like to say it's a mixed bag. More like the tiniest bit of good news and the rest, well, you be the judge. Blade - Gillette Rubie - probably the worst Russian blade made. It's from St. Pete's. I loathe it. Razor - Mladost II - seems like when I get on a bad roll from the shaving gods they pile on. Soap - Mitchell's Wool Fat. Yes!! My favorite soap. Might help salvage this thing. Brush - Marvy. Seriously? I can't have a shave without Marvy in it? What the......? And I have to use it with my favorite soap? The gods are cruel!
