May Focus Day 27: Jayaruh Brush Musco Real Classic SC W&B Wedge Stirling Unscented PSB Musco Real Classic AS This was my first wedge of the month. It was also my first shave with this razor. It is definitely different than shaving with a hollow ground razor, as it is heavy and just plows through the whiskers. It is silent as it does its job. The etching on the blade says "if you lather well, it'll shave well" and this seems true. It was a nice two pass shave for a CCS. This Saturday is looking good, and I hope everyone has a great day.

SOTD May 28, 2016 Injector/SE Focus Prep: Warm shower Blade: GEM Stainless PTFE Razor: GEM MMOC Brush: Omega 10049 boar Lather: VDH Luxury Post: Witch hazel splash, Aqua Velva, Nivea sensitive balm WTG, XTG Afternoon shave after working in the yard for several hours. Inaugural shave with the Gem Micromatic Open Comb I received yesterday. The turn to open mechanism is pretty neat on a single edge. It pushes the blade into place nicely. I may have had a little trouble with the angle due to a couple of nicks and a little irritation on my neck. The irritation should cool off and dissipate shortly. Otherwise everything was good. The razor was easy to use and enjoyable. I'll have to continue to refine the technique a little bit with this one. I'm really enjoying the injector and SE focus I've been doing this month! After a witch hazel splash I applied Aqua Velva pretty liberally. It BURNED!! It finally cooled off with some nice menthol touches. My wife hasn't commented on it yet, which is a good thing. She'll tell me almost immediately if she doesn't like an after shave. Finished up with Nivea balm and slathered it pretty thick on my neck where it was red. All in all a good, close shave. I'll continue working with the MMOC and try to avoid those nicks the next time. Have a great weekend!
I'll be on straights and pain sticks. Anybody else have a plan already or a theme? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
May 28, 2016- Soap/Lather Focus Razor: Pre-War Fat Handle Tech Blade: Gillette Platinum Plus Brush: VdH Boar Soap: Cella Got back home late last night. I didn't shave the last two days of vacation, so today I had to attack 3 days growth. I hit the Cella with a nicely hydrated brush and quickly had a nice, if a bit sloppy, lather. Unfortunately, the shave gods decided that if the lather was going to be good, then something would have to be up with the blade. (@NCoxSTL, you can probably relate to this one.) I'm not sure if it was just one too many shaves on the blade or the three-days growth, but the pass was very tuggy. I rode the cap, though, and came through it all with a decent DFS. Tomorrow, we revisit the Williams and see if we've learned anything this month.
