If I get an East of the Mississippi Bro-Code shipping address... Oh, wait, I have a Bunny of my own right now! Carry on.
I've only had one shave so far. I will have my name on the list for when you go Live on the full production run.
Shave number 1 with the V3 Bunny and I must say, as a near-newb injector user, I enjoyed this shave as much as any injector I’ve used to date. I enjoyed the nice feedback from the razor mainly because it wasn’t the “tearing Velcro” sound you get with many injectors. This sound was “scritchy” at first and then it turned to a calmer “swoosh” as the hair disappeared. Very nice indeed. I only encountered two minor problems. First was determining the easiest way to hold the razor and second was getting the angle right. I started out holding the razor very near the head with the end of the handle actually nestled in the center of the palm of my hand. While this proved very stable, it also made the razor difficult to “maneuver”, locking hand and razor into a single, inflexible unit. Toward the end of the shave I had switched to holding the razor very lightly near the end of the handle without actually realizing I had made the change. I think what basic shaving instincts I have must have had taken over. Holding the razor at the end made it feel light and easy to manipulate. Additionally, regardless of how I held the razor I didn’t notice that it was slippery at all, even when wet. When it came to angle I found I had a bit of difficulty “feeling” the blade and comb on my face to use as a reference and I kept straying to a steeper angle, not allowing the razor to be as efficient as it could be. Something unusual (I think) that I noticed was that this razor really excelled in my trouble main spots: my chin and my neck. The Bunny was a smooth as any I’ve used on both areas where I ended up near BBS. As strange as this may sound, I actually had difficulty on my cheeks. I attribute this to learning how to hold the razor and getting the angle right. I wondered if part of my problem, besides learning the razor, is the MILD comb. I tend to struggle with any mild razor and usually overwork things. I’m planning to use the MILD comb for another day or two and then move to the NOTSO just to see if my hunch is right. Bottom line, It’s now 14 hours later and my face still feels good and I don’t have any more stubble than one of my DE shaves.
I hold all my razors at the end of the handle near the tip. For me it allows the razor head to pivot naturally and makes the angle easy to find but also allows the razor to use it's own weight while providing optimum maneuverability. Nice write up Herm.
Herm Glad you had a good shave on your first outing with the Bunny. It should get better from here. Have fun Tom
Shave #2 V3 Bunny Blade-Schick "Chick" Brush-Hermey Soap-RazoRock Mudder Fokker Today's shave, with a two day growth, was nearly effortless. I looked at the razor closely last night and realized the blade was slightly crooked. It was tight against the blade stop on one side, but not the other. Tom, I don't know if that's user error (probably) or a blade loading design flaw. I'll watch closely when I change blade on Tuesday. Today the angle felt more natural and I let my grip fall where it felt most comfortable. I noticed I moved my hand depending on what areas I was shaving: Nearer the head on my cheeks and down the handle farther on my chin and neck. I noticed that the handle, like most razors, gets a tad slippery if you accumulate a little soap, but a quick rinse and it was very "grippy". For comparison purposes I pulled out my E1 for part of one cheek on the first WTG pass. No way was the E as comfortable. This was easily the closest injector shave I ever had. I chased the baby and he never put up a fight. BBS everywhere! (I even passed the "cotton ball test"!) I really like this injector! Sign me up when they're for sale!
