Still on my Nordic Beauty focus. Best shave yet with it. I refreshed my blades for the first time on lapping film as well. The first pass was underwhelming as usual but passes two and three were smooth and enjoyable with a face-rubbing goodness result. :happy036:

    Razor- Schick Injector Adjustable.
Lather- Ogallala Bay Rum Line and Peppercorn Soap in an Old Spice mug.
    Brush- Omega 10098 Boar.
    Post- OSMA Alum block.
AS- Genuine Ogallala Bay Rum Line and Peppercorn Aftershave.

Ordered injector blades Friday so next week I will be able to test out the G model injector I picked up. Looking forward to seeing how the G preforms. The adjustable is a very nice razor and gives great shaves so far. Tonight is only the third time I've only used it. Still learning to use the Schick injector. There is always something new to try.

    Today's Shave: Saturday June 4, 2016

    E.S.F. Rapide
    Rapide wedge blade (5)
Shave Revolution 24mm Persian Jar synthetic brush
    Yeti Snot
    Pinaud Clubman Original

I have to say it: I get my absolute best shaves from wedge blade razors. Period.

However, there are several other razor types that come really, really close, and don't require the preparation or the same degree of focus. Still, it is razors such as this Rapide that leave me rubbing my face and going "Wow!" most often.

My latest brush from Shave Revolution is worth mentioning. This is a great brush for people who found the Plissons to be lacking in backbone. It reminds me of my Grooming Co. brush, except with a bigger more usable handle. Best $15 I've spent in a while, and they even throw in a nice plastic case that is great for travel.

Yeti Snot has a killer menthol blast and produces a good lather with a little work, but I think I prefer Cryogen - maybe just the old tallow vs veggie soap thing.

Tomorrow: First shave with my brand new Above The Tie single edge razor. :happy088:

Roby after using the adjustable injector tonight I have to wonder why I got my DE razors. 4 days of growth and the adjustment knob on 3 the whiskers never even knew what hit them. 3 pass shave with touchups and I'm talking squeaky clean. BBS shave and not even with a fresh blade tonight was the third shave with this blades. What a very affective razor all I can hope for is that the Eversharp Schick Injector G gives the same results.

Riding the injector train....:transport022: ...... Nonstop for June is my plan we will see what happens. Cheers.

Ken, how awesome, I'm so happy your results were so good. I don't have a G but I do have an E type which I'm shaving with tomorrow as a matter of fact and they are just as awesome. Very maneuverable and fun to shave with. Enjoy my friend :)

Roby that is the next one on my list to get an E. I got to use one twice it was in the passaround box that @DaltonGang started awhile ago with the Veg in it. That was the very first time I used an injector and I fell in love with it the very first shave. That's all I look for in the antique store now is injectors. My wife showed me everything I miss because all I'm looking for is that lovely Butterscotch Bakelite handle its all I can think about when were in the antique shops. I'll find one I just know it. Until then the hunt continues.

    Hopelessly hooked on Injectors.

That was my impression of the razor, too. I found the Bunny effortless and efficient at the same time.

Not the best shave I've had with the I type. Neck is very irritated. May need to step back from it for a bit and then return to it later to work on technique with it.

    Funny you mention that Bob.
I really like my Stirling Kong (Plisson-like), but feel the backbone is a bit less than I'd prefer. May be worth a try for that price. Nice aesthetics as well.

Thank you! At least something was good about it lol. Shaves the past few days have been mediocre. I think my skin has been on the dry side

If you get a chance, try it out with some twin blades. Totally different razor. :happy036:

    Razor - Schick I1 Injector.
Lather - Prorasa Eucalyptus and Menthol
    Brush - Durabuilt Pure Badger.
Bowl - Raku ware chawan (tea bowl)
Aftershave (not shown) - Vanilla body butter

As a reminder I converted to SE injector shaving recently and had found the Schick I2 Hydro-magic my go to razor in comparisons with the G6, E2 and L6. After that I tried the PAL Injecto-matic which came close and the difference may have been one of ergonomics as nothing fits my hand as well as the I.

The next major change was starting to use a real shave cream, Proraso, and that has worked out great. Besides lathering up in no time I haven’t had a nick since switching.

Then my Schick II twin blades arrived and it was time to test the I1. No contest! For me, it is a step above the I2 (with Chinese Schick blade). I find it a bit light (29 grams versus 32 for the I2) but it is definitely my number one for now. Other contestants are waiting in line and I will update accordingly.

I still haven't tried my G yet. I can say that my recently acquired E is a fantastic razor and the shave rivals my best Gillettes.

The Schick injectors are fantastic razors!

    All aboard!

Interesting! I remember a conversation from decades back that my father had with my uncle and my father saying that the Schick was too mild for him. It was the 1960s, so maybe it was the model L model.

Now, in 2016, I'm saying the Schick E rivals any Gillette out there! Go figure!
