Welcome to the Rockwell Owners Adjustable Razor Club
    "ROARC"

The purpose of this thread is to:
    • Highlight memorable SOTD's with the Rockwell system.
    • Show off your Rockwell razor in as many photos as you want.
    • Discuss the different baseplates, blades, pros/cons.
    • The sky is the limit :)

The goal is to discuss a razor that many of us have found to be a stellar modern, all stainless steel DE razor at an affordable price. Also, I am/was curious to see how many happy Rockwell owners we have here.

If you're a Rockwell owner post below if you want to be added to the members list here. Any model/version is entitled to a "membership" :) Please state the model you own.

    FAQ
Q: How do I order one?
A: Go to Rockwellrazors.com and place an order. There's a short waiting list. First come, first served.

Q: How long does it take from order to invoicing/delivery?
A: Usually within the running month of ordering to dispatch. Delivery depends on the shipping method chosen and your geographic location around the world.

Q: How much will I have to pay to get one of these razors?
A: 99 USD + accesories for the 6S. The Model T is still on Kickstarter, but available through Indiegogo for 99 USD as well at the moment. Pricing and availability is last checked June 2016.

Q: What are my options when buying a razor?
A: There's no customability when it comes to the razor. However, Rockwell provides a stand, sheath, blades and so forth, all at reasonable prices.

    I can start out :)

    My Rockwell "haul". Link.
My very first shave with the 6S. Link.

At the moment I'm really enjoying baseplate #2 on a daily 24 hour basis. With longer stubble the #4 seems to treat me well. I can't use #4 on a daily basis it seems, there is a spot on my chin that doesn't like the aggressiveness of the larger gap found on #4.

However, with several days stubble, the #4 is great.

So far I've tried Astra SP and Rapira Swedish Supersteel in it. Both work great. I'll soon try Rockwell's own blade and see how it fares.

The Rockwell 6S is definitely a favorite of mine. It gets used for right around half of my shaves.

    I have 2 Rockwell 6S.
I am waiting for my Rockwell Model T, I ordered 2 of them also.

I have used my Rockwell 6S several times. Using all of the Baseplate options. I have used Astra SP blades only with this razor.

    Nice to see you, guys.

Some advocate to use a sharper blade on the lower plates and a "duller" one on the higher plates. What do you recon?

On a totally other note - I simply love the neutral blade exposure running from the lowest plate to the slightly negative exposure on the higher ones. It makes it a very pleasant shaver for me on a daily basis.

Meh. Too much brain-work. Just use your favorite blade and pick a base plate that works well for you :)

"What Rockwell 6s base plate are you?"

Me, I'd say I'm a 4.5 - I tend to use either the 4 or 5 most times I pick up this razor.

This will be my first time shaving with the Plissoft brush. I have test lathered it with great results, so I'm really looking forward to it.
I'll have a 36 hour stubble, so I look forward to test the #2 plate to see if it'll do the job.
#2 has really treated me greatly the past shaves. Efficient, yet mild on the face.
For consistency, I'm sticking with the Mango soap and a familiar blade.
No need to factor in too many differences while I'm getting used to the Rockwell.

Excellent shave! I am sure the Plissoft will suit you well. It is one of the best synthetics I have used!

I look so much forward to it. It seems more dense than my WD synthetic, but just as soft, albeit a bit different feel due to the denseness. Backbone is tough to decide with a palm test lather, but I think I know what to expect (somewhere around the WD backbone).

If hype holds water I'm with ya already - best synthetic out there! And for 10 bucks... (well and 16 in shipping...lol) but I still think it's cheap. Excellent weight and amazing grip on the Bruce handle.

It is for sure in my top three. (In fact one of only three synthetics I kept in the rotation.). It is denser than the WD/Ubersoft, which is (second model) one of my keepers, but not as dense as the Chubby 2. For sure, it is one of if not the, biggest value in brushes on the market. If you like synthetic brushes, guaranteed you will love this one.

I never realised WD was Ubersoft? Great info!

Just finished my shave with the Plissoft and I definitely like it! It felt a bit more scrubby when force pressed, compared to the WD. Handle is amazing, felt so good to hold, ultra soft tips and made great lather of the I Coloniali puck.

Love it. You're right, it's definitely a great bargain, even for the 26 USD I paid shipping included. Zero regrats :D

Too much stubble for the #2. It felt like using a Tech, it left too much in it's wake. I did finish with a near-BBS, but comfort-wise on first pass, a higher plate would have been better. I could feel it struggled to keep up with the pace :) I tend to shave too fast, so perhaps that attributed to it?

Funny thing is, if I remember correctly, the gap on the Tech is much larger than the #2 plate, comparable to #4, yet #4 on the Rockwell is far far more effective than the Tech is. Gap isn't everything as it appears.

Well, the synthetics are currently the same knot. (Or they were.)

I'm in..Rockwell v2. Daily shave is a feather and base #4. Great 2 pass shave unless I miss a day, then I may have to add a xtg pass in the middle.

Man, Astra SP seems to work great in this razor. I may have to reassess my opinion on that blade.
