The Haul: June 2016

I have been trying to slow down on shaving purchases, but Wholly Kaw just released a tallow soap, big fan of WK so I had to try it out, and finally got a chance to try Mike's soap. Ann Arbor is not too far from me and have been waiting to try Mike's soap since starting wet shaving.


1x Mike's Natural Soap- Orange, Cedarwood & Black Pepper

1x Wholly Kaw- Lav Sublime Concerto Tallow Soap

 

I certainly can't match the good Captains expertize and will not try. I have a 62 Slim and a 58 FB and I can feel the difference in the torque required to adjust the setting(s) with the doors open and closed. That being said, I will continue to follow my father's lifelong dictum - that less is better.

First 1912 razor with blades. Gem variety via @Herm2502 and Jim.

 

A small, cheap ultrasonic cleaner for razors. I tossed in a couple of razors I thought were already pretty clean, added water and a little dish soap, and ran for a couple of cycles. I couldn't believe the scum floating in the water afterwards.

 

Also purchased Thayers WH lavender this evening at W.F. new scent for me. Can't use after shaves with alcohol as they burn not soothe my skin.

 

That Mike's soap is a very nice soap with a great scent. I look forward to hearing what you think of it.

 

That's the same one I use. It works great.

 

I put my eyeglasses in it and took off a thick film of nose and ear grease.

I think thats bad. Why only have one option. Its the same in TVB shaving

 

From what I know of USPS, it can't get any cheaper. I was surprised to see the tracking number and only 4 days in transit. Usually none-tracked shipping is around the 16 USD. Perhaps they "upgraded" the shipping to make sure it got here?

 

The Maggard brush knot came today and it is so soft. This is it sitting on top of my cut off flashlight body handle.......
