Second shave with this razor, and it was hard better than the first. It feels extremely smooth, but I am struggling with reduction just a bit. I would rate this as a CCS, on one pass with some clean up. Yesterday, I required two full passes for a SAS, so definitely better. I am normally able to get a little closer, though. The wedge definitely moves through my beard with little resistance. I hope everyone is having a good day.

22nd shave on this Kai and I am going to bet it has maybe 1-2 more left in it but not much after that. I am overall pretty happy with the millage I am getting out of them as I normally shave every other day and at this rate it seems like 1 blade will last me a little over a month. :)

Also so glad to have MdC back in my den. :) BBS again today no nicks or irritation.

So the mule train from Moscow plodded up the front door today, and dropped off my ration of Russian steel. I looked over the display card and found this:

A quick Google search reveals that Safi Romal is an import company with offices in Pakistan and Afghanistan and possibly Egypt as well. I guess this solves the mystery of the Sharp Stars. I could have solved it quicker if it hadn't been for those meddling kids and their dog.

I've been focusing on SE razors and different handles this month. I have also used a iKon, which is a very aggressive razor in my books. Here are a few pictures of some of my shaves.

Razor blades have always been a form of currency in the Middle East. I remember reading the books by James Herriot, the English veterinarian, where he writes about flying a load of cattle to Istanbul in the '60s. He was in the airport bathroom shaving, while a man kept trying to dust him down with talcum powder. James thought the man was trying to earn a tip, but he just wanted a razor blade.

    Injector/SE Focus month 2

    Cold water 3.gif

    Prep: Warm shower
    Blade: Chinese Schick
    Razor: Schick G1 Injector
Brush: Satin Tip 'The Purest' synthetic
Lather: Edwin Jagger Limes and Pomegranate shave cream
Post: Witch hazel splash, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Decent shave today. The Edwin Jagger cream wasn't as slick as other creams I've used. It could have been the lathering technique....I pulled a little out on my finger and smeared it on a couple of spots on my face then face lathered. The lather was okay. I just didn't find it all that moisturizing, slick, or comfortable. I've got the cold water banner up as usual but it wasn't all that cold or even cool. It was lukewarm at best. Wish I had used some ice! Oh well, there's always another shave.

The G1 worked great again. I love that little razor.

I'm on vacation with my wife and little boy and will therefore post as I can. Have a great weekend!

Well for fine Russian steel I'd do some talcum dusting.

Hello everyone. I dropped in to say hello and apologize for being away for the past couple of months. I have re-prioritized my Bible study (I got away from it over the last few months), and I've also been pretty busy at work. We have a new owner, and I'm still waiting to hear what my future holds. Who knows, I may have a little extra time for shaving in the future with my morning shaves occurring at 8 am instead of 4:30 am. :p

I'm taking guitar lessons on-line, and I have started learning how to play. "Started" is the key word here. This has been a lifelong dream of mine, and I decided recently to go for it. My Bride encouraged me to get a nice guitar, so I'm blessed to be learning on a Martin Dreadnought (Bluegrass style guitar). It's proving to be quite a challenge and a whole lotta fun.

Over the past couple of months, I have been using a beautiful Gillette Red Tip compliments of Douglas Carey. It is a wonderful shaver, right up there with my Gillette Long Comb. Typical shaves are two passes (WTG or XTG face/ATG neck & ATG), and I consistently get near BBS results. I throw in a single pass shave every so often, it's usually a darn fine shave. Most recently, I've been using a Tabac shave stick (a fantastic soap) and my Kent BK4 brush.

I've thinned down my shave den over the past few months, with the intent of focusing on what works best for me. It has been a few months since I've purchased anything new, and I still have enough soap, cream, and blades to keep me going for a few years. :D

I hope to become more active again over the summer. I've got a lot of catching up to do. A big congrats and thanks to Chris for serving the TSD community as a Moderator!

I hope you all have a great weekend. :happy088:

I didn't have time for a straight shave today, and with a couple of days growth I figured I'd show a little love to the R41 Grande today. In the past I've had some close shaves, but at the cost of some irritation. Today I tried it with a @Bama Samurai favorite, the GSB, and rode the cap. Best blade yet for that razor. Very smooth and no burn. It's nice to stumble over the baby when you least expect it.

I was showering and decided that I should grab the painstick and shave with that while everything was nice and moist in the shower. Well meds and painsticks don't mix well judging from the 4 small slices that were delivered to me during my first and only pass. My grip was off because of the muscle relaxers and my face feel was off from the pain pills. Styptic, screams, curses and whimpers were followed by a post shower nivea treatment. I learned M lesson. Fusion it is for the next week until I'm off the meds.

Thanks! I was alarmed to see Neal introducing the June focus. I calmed down once I saw that he didn't introduce any Neal-like rules.
