First pipe today and have a feeling will have several more...Dunhill Early Morning in a Sav 320 Series III. Coloring nicely.... Brand new Now, after about 8 bowls...
Sunday morning pipe. Enjoyed a smoke before my shave. I can't wait until I retire so everyday is a Saturday.
SP Mellow in a Matt Van. I bought a David Jones pipe off eBay yesterday. He's a pipe maker in Texarkana who does commission work and also makes pipes he sells on eBay. I've heard good things about his work, his pokers seem very popular. I liked the looks of this one.
On Gardesana: This pipe is a most pleasant surprise. I was a bit worried about the QC, it "has an msrp of $70", but was offered at $26. Always on the lookout for good briar, and knowing Gardesana makes HIS, I bit. The verdict-- the pipe is light and visually attractive, with nice fit and finish, acceptable in every way. A machine pipe, rusticated... And it's had two flawless burns. It will be a regular pipe, and I may order another. It's probably not a label that pipe collectors will seek, but I would buy another as a "true smoker" in an instant.
Nothing a little research can't uncover I think I'm just too old, I never watched the GI Joe cartoons.
Well it looks like I just bought this Kaywoodie Regent. I hope it looks as good in person as it does in the photo. After how this weekend went (speeding ticket Saturday night), I was hoping someone would outbid me but no one did.
I hope so. Just under $40 with shipping. Looks to be in good shape but I suppose the stem could have anything going on with it. I like the Cumberland bit.
Can't wait until you get it and try it out. Hopefully it will be your best smoker for years! My Kaywoodie Drinkless Carved pipes see tons of OGS!
Haven't decided what to put in it yet. I need to make time to try the rest of the stuff I bought. Was planning a pipe today but there was a big fire nearby and I ended up going straight to the station for a standby after work.
