Not my fault! ;) The website had it wrong.

But, "he who burns" would be the better translation. Not burned. Think of it as a free translation. lol.

One silly usage just crossed my mind; "hot water heater". If the water is already hot, there is no need to heat it.

My wife likes to "un-thaw" things from the freezer. I have tried, unsuccessfully, to tell her that "un-thawing" is the same as "freezing."

I found another misuse; "bafoon" which is clearly meant to describe a fool. (I have seen this on another discussion board. ) I guess it is a conflation of "buffoon" and "baboon".

Interesting; I was not aware of that one. But, in the context I read, it was used as I described.

I had fun reading a review on the Stirlingsoaps website. I knew what the reviewer meant, but he said "As a kid in the 80's and 90's this scent is very familiar". Who is "the kid", the reviewer or the scent????? I know it was the reviewer, but that review needed a final draft.

The song was, "Animal Fair", and it was "...baboon by the LIGHT of the moon..."

I have a strange suspicion that song was written about some of my (thankfully) more distant relatives.

Penguins and baboons are fairly distantly related, it would seem.

I was watching TV, when I heard a character use "momento" to mean a souvenir. The word is memento.

Was the character a southerner, per chance?
