That's the one razor type I know little about. Is it possible you need to strop more, somehow?

I'm hoping I just momentarily forgot my training oh Wise One. Once I rode high on the cap, my shave changed.

This razor is reminding me that my skills still, and always, require respect for the tool.

It seems those heavy blades should really mow it down! You'll get it quick, angle and pressure are usually the keys! Next time will be DFS territory.

    June Focus Day 19:

    Stirling Synthetic Brush
    Stirling Cool SS
    Rolls Razor
    Stirling Unscented PSB
    Canoe AS

Today's shave was a great kick off to summer. I chose some Stirling Cool for a little menthol and wrapped it up with some Canoe with just a bit a menthol. In between, it was great Rolls that gave me a an easy DFS on that slick lather. It is definitely warming up in SE Texas, so this shave helped bring just a little cooling to start my day. I hope everyone has a great day.

    Blade: Chinese Schick
    Razor: Schick G1 Injector
    Brush: Satin Tip The Purest
    Lather: Proraso White
Post: Witch hazel, Aspen, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Still on the road. Pics will return later for my posts. Decent shave today. I'm in a hotel this morning and the bathroom lights were dim. Made it harder to shave that way. But decent overall. Not sure I like the scent of the Lucky Tiger Aspen. I only have a sample so no real loss there.

    Have a great day!

    1-day growth, 1-pass shave - ATG
Yesterday's brief interlude with the 1912 Damaskeene was much closer than I thought it was, leaving me with just a 1-pass clean-up this morning which the L and Twin Blades zipped through in record time.

Off on another business trip for most of the week. Will be taking my H2 travel razor. Have a great week all!

    Cheers!

    Razor - Gold Dollar 800

    Soap - Tabac
Brush - Wolf Whiskers Custom Silvertip
Post - Cold rinse, Alum, Nivea, The Veg

The weekend. Finally. Ignore all of that Monday morning nonsense. Although I was out in it this morning due to an early Dr. appointment. Got that out of the way, took SWMBO out for her birthday breakfast and then home to sit out the heat again. Having some company tonight to celebrate the Solstice. Too much going on for a day off. Anyway.......

Another day with the GD800 and it's also head shave day. Considered trying the straight on my head but reconsidered. Not quite ready to attempt that, though I suspect it won't be any worse than the pain stick for that. After all, both of my pain stick head shaves produced a very close, smooth and comfortable result with minimal if any blood loss. Oh, sorry @Mr. Freeze93 .....too soon? Head shave was its normal setup. Merkur 23c, Astra and VDH Deluxe. Need another puck as I finished that one up today. Great result as always.

Full shave was another good one. I think being relaxed helped this one along. Took my time, great Tabac and Wolf lather, and two passes plus just a bit of touchup brought the baby to town today. Nice! I have nothing bad to say about this razor, other than it has to be stropped. Yeah, still trying to figure out why the extra step bugs me. Oh well, either I'll get over it or I won't.

Going to take a break in my routine tomorrow for a run with the Swan razor on a stick, for lack of a better term. This high quality zinc piece of, um, razor, looks quite interesting, and as I mentioned before the cap tends to wobble a bit without a blade in it. So, I put a blade in it and that made the cap......wobble less. Still some movement but the blade seems to be solidly in place. I played with it without the blade trying to get the feel for how it will handle. And, looking at the blade and gap, I'm not sure how it will actually handle. This could be one of those "AHA - this is cool and great!" moments or, something more in line with "why is there so much blood?!?!?!" We'll see tomorrow.

Would a thicker blade and/or ship help with the wobble?

@NCoxSTL and the other almighty lover of The Fat @mrchick ;) I have some heartbreaking news... after todays head shave my puck of The Fat went quietly into the night... It served me well and will be greatly missed until I buy another puck. This will be my first Fatless Wednesday in over a year and a half... from the first lather I fell in love and became a die hard "Fat Boy"... oh how I will miss it.

Services will be held Wednesday at 5 am. In lieu of flowers I ask for donations of unwanted MWF as the wife is still P.O.'d about my MdC purchase..

Goodbye old friend and God speed....

I believe a purchase of the Fat should not be considered a "splurge" purchase. Leave that for MdC. The Fat is an absolutely essential soap that no den can be without, nor should ever be without. Those who run out of Fat have been given special dispensation from the Cartel to order a replacement puck immediately (and get two so you have more time in between arguments with the wife) without any recourse from said SWMBO. I mean, it's the same as running out of her absolutely must have skin cream, right? Let me know how that works for ya!

It might if it would fit. I'll get some pics of the inside of this thing to illustrate. Has three posts that fit in the blade to hold it in place, then the cap slides on. Not sure if a shim would stay in place but it may be worth a try if it turns into a blood bath.

Lover of the Fat? Me? Not hardly. I recognize this for what it is, a ploy to get me to dispose of this stuff via USPS. Nicely done
PM me your address and I'll use this as an excuse to end my focus early. I will stuff what I have left in a shipper and send it to you.
Lover of the Fat, pffft! Call me lover of the Route 66!
