The TOBS Grapefruit Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #61 Synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Schick M Adjustable razor with a Schick Stainless Twin Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with T.N. Dickinson's WH and then Mennen Skin Bracer After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Received a Rubberset 400 #3 yesterday and went to work restoring it. Upon advise from other I decided to keep the original knot and I'm very happy I did. First the brush.


Took it apart.


Cleaned it up.



Came out pretty well for a first cleaning.

I could not believe how well this brush performed right out of the gate. It whipped up a great lather and felt outstanding in my hand. This was a excellent start to a near BBS shave. Thanks for the 400 thread it was a great help. Not to mention the posts from member who responded to my inquiry.

 

The TOBS grapefruit smells good enough to eat

Nice inaugural shave with the Bunny V2 razor. Beautiful craftmanship in the razor - I'm very impressed. The Ginger's Garden soap provided tons of beautiful lather. I struggled with the handle angle on this first attempt. I ended up with some redness on my neck because the angle was off. I'm sure I'll improve as a I get a few more shaves in.

Overall I was pleased with the shave and humbled to be able to try it. Have a great day!

That's what I've been reading. And they both have classic pictures on their bottles.

 

what does that mean(Gillette&Old Spice collectors)....you like to get your hands on anything from them, new or old?

 

I prefer old Gillette razors and old Old Spice Decanters or products.
I must admit I'm really impressed with the Mongoose razor I purchased lately.

 

ah, OK....me too. You won't catch me buying anything from the makers of Old Spice that says "Smellmitment"(like you see in some of their new ads).
