Nuts. I've done about 30 razor with S-bubbles (non-bleach) and Dawn over night. Nary a problem.

You must have had members of Neil's Russian cartel on the job lol. But in all seriousness that is pretty quick, have heard things take forever to make it from Russia.

I'm continue to be amazed that these mint razor's are still out there. How does something like that avoid mosture, smoke, dust, animals, divorces, kids, moving and other general hazzards for 70 years? I often wonder if someone handed me a new razor today and told me to safe guard it for 3/4 of a century - where the heck would I put it to assure it's safety? A time capsule? Congrats a great find and many added years of life to a classic.

It has a notched center bar, so I thought that indicated 48-50. It seems like a 48 head on a 46-47 handle

Why not CLR? I have used it a few times with success.

The times I've used it, I could see it turning the water/razor black and bubbly. The last time I used CLR was on a SEGAL and this is what happened...

Be careful if you're soaking different metals in the same solution at the same time - it can cause unwanted reactions such as erosion/discolouration.
No need for strong (potentially damaging) cleaning agents either. Dishwashing fluid, baking soda and time is all that is needed in most cases, when cleaning an old razor :)

Mail call! My Father's Day treat came in. An Above The Tie S1 slant with Kronos handle. image.jpeg image.jpeg
Wow! Everything I've seen/heard about this razor is true. Precision machining, top notch fit and finish. Even the screwing and unscrewing of the handle feels more precise.

My English Aristrocrat came in and it was ugly!!!

It came out decent. There is a little wiggle around the neck from the crimp inside the head. But overall it's good. I got it for $50 shipped. Which is more in my price range than the $150 + I've seen on eBay.

Ok, my other Schicks showed up in the mail today. Will use one most likely tomorrow if my blades come in. Not sure which one yet, not gonna use the gold plated textured one I got the other day. That'll be with my displayed razors, too nice to mess up, at least for now. IMG_0557.jpg

from what I've read, the G is one that'll deliver mild yet close shaves. haven't seen any reviews yet about the other one, I type(?)

I have the I type just like yours and it is my best/favorite Schick shaver. The others all seem to tear me up a little, although I am going to start rotating them through again for another try.
