Another curiosity landed here, just a simple very cool old razor, the first patent was 9/21/1896 and the last was 6/12/1900 amazing condition for something well over a hundred years old! What will I do with it? I'm going to try and make some kind of display maybe a shadow box or something to put a few iconic old razors and other things in that can somehow illustrate some of the history of razor development over the years.

 

Nice! Does it have a pin & washers on the wedge end?
Yours may be an earlier produced unit. This one numbered - 89209.
Mine has a slight differences on the latch thingie. A bit of crosshatched knurling.

Gentlemen, please fasten your seat belts... behold.... a modern NOS Gillette Mach3... TURBO! .... well not so much old... new it is and it was in stock and it was dusty, so NOS could be used. Or not.

Why would spend/waste my money on it you say? Because I recently acquired a vintage-ish hard-case for a Mach3 system and I wanted to complete that. Also it could be fun to revisit a system I loathed when I left it. I may be in for a positive surprise. I found it at a greatly reduced price including the holder I could not find in any other store. And having dishonoured NB16 I figured I might as well take it with me.

I was using the Mach 3 when I left cartridges and started wet shaving. I haven't used it since but it was the best razor for my whiskers/face and wouldn't hesitate to use it again if needed.

 

+1 , but I passed the last of my new carts, handle, and base to a neighbor. His wife liked the RazoRock - Son of Zeus sample I shared.

 

Received my ranger tech!! After a soaking and polish it looks fantastic!

 

It definitely doesn't smell like SR. It is more of a tobacco flower, not ashtray. And the juniper is very pronounced
