I didn't post yesterday's shave. First time shaving the upper lip with a straight. One cut and weeper. Two passes. I will take Mandom over the Veg any day. But not everyone can handle it.

 

Cut and weeper aside you must ask yourself.... do you feel pretty?

 

I have not used a shavette in a couple weeks. Next Saturday I leave for Detox in Thailand and I will bring some shavettes with me. These days I have too many meetings where I do not want to look like I was in a cat fight.

 

Straight Razor focus with today's razor a Robert Williams Purist

This razor looks scary and shaves scary. It takes a very sharp edge but not as smooth as my top straights plus it has a sharp point. The only razor scarier to me is a CJB/Feather DX.

This razor is fresh off the stones and very sharp. I have read people don't think straight razor edges are as sharp as DE or SE. This razor proves that internet wisdom wrong. Wow this edge is sharp. SR do not have coatings, are thicker and usually honed so that they are sharp and feel comfortable. I think this gives an impression that they are not as sharp as machine made blades.

If I do not draw blood with this razor it feels like a major accomplishment, today no blood. The edge did not feel as smooth but not too rough either but it felt very sharp. The alum was silent and just caught the baby.

Irritation A+ Closeness A Smoothness A- Sharpness A+

 

A little. Not all of us can just pick a dress color to be pretty.

BTW, if you are trying to bait me into a CT worthy conversation, I'm not sure I am eligible for one. If a mentholated scrotum and the catch phrases "What's the worst that could happen?" (mine, but inspired by Neal,) And "Don't get nuts with it!" (Thanks Chris,) didn't get me one, I'm not sure what could.

Cartel logic. I like it. As blade czar I will allow him to keep Sharp Star up there as it is a fine, fine blade. But the cartel is watching. Always.

 

You have escaped the CT goddess for an amazingly long time. But I"m wondering if that itself might not be CT worthy? Just the phrase "mentholated scrotum" SCREAMS CT to me.

Happy Friday! Or Wednesday in my universe. And it started with Proraso and pony for a great lather. The Rabbit again performed very well off of the stropping I gave it last night. Smooth, and the Proraso was very slick today so no issues. I played around a bit on my neck trying some different strokes to try and achieve BBS in two passes but ended just shy of the baby. That's fine. No blood but the alum was pretty hot on my neck where I was playing around. I never thought I'd ever say I was "playing around my neck" with a deadly piece of steel. Amazing how it becomes routine and just a part of the morning. Now, lose concentration, and it could be a bloody morning.

I'll be skipping the straight tomorrow as I have an early meeting in the morning. Don't want to get up early enough to allow the time so I'll switch to a DE tomorrow. Hope you all have a good start to your weekend if you get those!
