Two days of growth provided plenty of targets for Moscow's finest. Really focused on two spine-width angle and good pressure. Pass one was a dream... And pass two took me to the DFS. Voskhod shines through in this razor. Spent the entire day doing nothing for the first time in months. Other than that... All is quiet in Colorado.

    Have a great Sunday!

Marley!!! You can't go wrong with Marley. Saw him in concert when I was 21 or so. Was deaf for three days after but still moving to the music. Met him backstage as well (old radio days) and what an amazing dude. And that cigar he was smoking. Wasn't a Cuban, nor a Dominican. Strange odor for a cigar.......what..........huh? That wasn't a cigar?.........ohhhhhhhhhhh.......yeahhhhhhh...........I know the afterlife is still dancing since he got there.

    He liked Jamaican "blended" cigars.

Reggae plays softly in the background of my warehouse 24/7. It lightens the mood and keeps people up.

I was on air the night he died. Still doing graveyard shift at KLZR in Lawrence. Played four hours straight Marley. Lots of call ins to talk about him and what he meant. Lennon had died previously and everyone went ape over that. 2 days of Beatles before it settled down. Four hours of Marley didn't seem like enough, but the mood and party that started at KU and other places that night with him on the radio...one of my favorite memories.

Many in the first world don't understand him. He was a political rebel trying to prevent the slaughter of his people in Jamaica by paramilitary government forces during a time of great upheaval. This song was a message in code, using non threatening biblical language, to tell the opposition factions to unite, or face destruction.

"Let's get together to fight this holy Armageddon,
    So when 'the man' come...
There will be no, no doom."

He literally healed Jamaica, and his influence likely saved the lives and or well-being of maybe thousands of poor people. He got the government and the opposition to agree to a cease fire on his stage shortly before he passed away.

Lather didn't come together so I aborted a straight razor shave. Dropped back and punted - FatBoy is an effortless shave with a Voskhod on number 5. Alum followed by something I don't often use. Witch hazel with added lime and patchouli E.O. It took several minutes to dry and put me in a Florida Water state of mind.

I had to break with the wedge focus for a day, as I just got this razor in yesterday. It is a Japanese frameback, and shaves well. I had a moment where I relaxed my skin stretching a bit too early and caused a cut, and then a second lapse in concentration that causes another cut, but I did end with BBS face. This razor has lots of potential, I just need to do my part. I hope everyone has a great day!

    Pinaud Bay Rum
    Florida Water with M-Bomb

Final shave with the Bunny, it's been a pleasure to try and I'll miss it. Same equipment as the last shave except I switched sides. The Bunny got my left side, the Type G got the right. As usual, the Stirling produced a wonderful lather with possibly my favorite scent. I did three passes again and here's the result.
First pass was WTG with both and I had great reduction, I like how audible the Bunny is and how easy it is to clean out. The Type G makes it easier to get into tight spots because of its head size however I still prefer the Bunny. Second pass I went XTG, the Bunny finished this pass closer than the Schick. Third pass was ATG and I'm left with a BBS with the Bunny, DFS with the Schick. The Bunny just gets closer. There was a little bit of feedback from the alum on my left side, zero from the Schick. Even with the feedback the Bunny still wins. I'm definitely smoother on my left side. I think with a little cleanup I'd be BBS with the Schick so that is comforting me since the Bunny moves on tomorrow. Have a great day folks!

    Last day of straights focus!

    Razor - Rabbit
    Soap - MWF
    Brush - Wolf
    Post - Alum/Veg

Well I've decided to end my straights focus today. So, for the last day I used the Rabbit again with WolfFat and took my time since I started a bit early. Great lather and the slickness was awesome. I've been paying a bit more attention to that since some have had issues and so far I haven't had a problem. Just keeping an eye on things to see if it changes on me.

The shave was two passes of smooth and audible shaving. Nice sound since I didn't shave yesterday and nice feel. One thing you can say about straights is they are masters of taking care of two or more days growth. Two passes to near BBS and the alum was quiet. Veg as a body splash to power sales today, though I'll spend a lot of the day on inventory while my assistant covers the floor. Hopefully we'll be busy enough inventory gets pushed off.

I'm waiting on a razor to arrive for my next project. I'm not doing a focus as much as a long term project starting next month. It's something others can join in if they want and I'll be putting up the details in a day or two. The razor is somewhere between Korea and here. I won't start before the 5th anyway because next weekend is another sale weekend at work, so crazy hours and all that. If the razor isn't here by then I'll improvise for a few days.

In the meantime I'm just going to randomly choose gear and enjoy some quality shaves, you know, Jolly Good Shaves! Spend some time with a Russian or two and play with gear that probably gets ignored too often.

Hope your Sunday is a great one!

That is a Schick Revere Handle. It was a promo item in the 70's and was my Dad's razor during my preteen childhood. He went to carts, but I converted him back to a 63 Slim Adjustable and Voskhod and Arko. He started shaving in 63, so that's why I picked that razor. My Dad is also the proud daily user of @Jayaruh Brush #22, handmade handle with a gen3 Synthetic knot.

I pulled a soap out of the cabinet that I haven't used for a while. It's actually a very nice soap that lathers well and has great slickness. The smell is strong and not typical. Their website calls it, "a stout infused cookie". I face lathered today and the brush performed beautifully.

Very nice, glad you have something of your fathers to hold onto. It is great you got your father back into wet shaving! I don't have any of my fathers razors to shave with but I do have 1 of my grandfathers, he grew up in the depression and has a hard time throwing anything away thankfully for me!

Great relaxing shave today. 15 second load on the 620 yielded enough lather for my 4 pass shave. 4 irritation and nick free passes later (WTG,XTG,XTG,ATG) and I am fresh out of the womb smooth. Only downfall of todays shave was being a little overzealous while face lathering and I got a ton of lather flung onto my best dress...wait...uhh..... t-shirt.... yeah t-shirt... Alum was silent and the Thayers Lavender felt refreshing... another cold water rinse after I was done cleaning my brush and razor and I tossed on a big handful of the Veg.

Smelling great, looking.... questionable, but gosh darn it I feel pretty and that's good enough for me.
