I completely understand using your left hand is counter intuitive especially in the mirror. Just take your time on your left and take short strokes with your razor.
CJB/ Feather Pro (1) Whipped Dog High Mountain 30mm (help me come up with a nick name for this beast guys.... it's a monster and deserve it's own name... my daughter said I should call it Elmo) B&M Seville Thayers Fine American Blend A new month, a new focus, a new month to embarrass myself and have my masculinity questioned even harder. June went by in the blink of an eye and I am ready for July but even more (sappy, emotional, blue dress loving cry baby incoming) I am looking forward to another month with all of you in the 30 Day Crew. If it wasn't for all of you (Except @Drygulch and @NCoxSTL.... jerks ) there is no doubt in my mind I wouldn't be on this forum anymore, let alone wet shaving. With all of your input, guidance, encouragement, and hurtful jokes that leave me crying myself to sleep every night I have perfected my technique (minus MAYhem) and learned so much from you guys. So sincerely from the bottom of my purdy blue dress I thank you all who have helped me in this journey... if it wasn't for you guys I would still be trying to make a Mach 3 head last a good 4-6 months past it's prime. Fine, fine, fine..... @Drygulch is cool. Onto tonight's shave!!!! Came home on lunch to find a package on the table with the brush I ordered from Whipped Dog. I was stressed and hairy so I decided to use my lunch break for a nice relaxing shave. Grabbed the CJB and one of my favorite soaps and aftershave and went to town. Ok first things first.... this brush.... is insane.... it is huge, soft as a baby's butt, enough backbone to beat a soap into submission within seconds (might just be the soap is scared to fight it) 5 second load on the Seville (no I am not joking.... 5 seconds) and the brush had a great load on it. Went straight to a face lather and painted on an outstanding lather. Did 2 and a 1/2 passes (XTG, ATG, and some minor touchup) and I am BBS. No nicks or irritation whatsoever. Cold water rinse, and then I throw on some Thayers. After I was done cleaning my brush and everything I did a final cold water rinse followed by Fine American Blend. Feeling good and smelling like a million bucks I headed back into work. Some more pictures of the ginormous brush for those who want to see.
I am in for another month. I have a couple of new to me straights that I want to spend some time with this month. One is the Japanese Scheon Burg 665, the other is a razor that was imported by the Shaheen Brothers but made in Germany. I have a third razor on the way supposedly, but somehow the USPS got my address mixed up. For the days I am not shaving at home, I plan to use my Barbasol Floating Head razor to get myself dialed in with it. I have to admit, I am looking forward to this part of my month.
Don't worry it is scary but your left will quickly return to your control from the aliens. I never thought it possible I could learn to shave with my left hand but now I do not know how I could use SR without the use of both hands. If you have a feather or CJB shavette you can practice without a blade to build up your muscle memory. Within 2 weeks you will be fine with both hands.
Very nice brush. I do notice, however, that I'm not cool like @Drygulch ?! Why, I've always never been anything but supportive of your efforts and always laugh my butt off cringe when I hear of you bleeding after shaving. You know you have my total ridicule support and would never work hard add my voice to such a CT as you suffered. You're my number one target concern on here! Really! You can trust me.....I'm a salesman after all!
Great start with straights! Looks like you'll be a part of the dark side in no time. You did the same thing I did when I started with pain sticks....just part of the face, one pass and work up to more. Very nice!
I don't know what everybody's problem with left handed shaving is. I've been doing it since I started in my teens. It's the right hand that gave me fits.
Don't jinx me.... now I am nervous about tomorrow.... it's normally when I get cocky I slip up and slice an artery....
ROFL @ NCoxSTL And if you believe that I got some sunny and warm beach front property in Siberia for you! ROFL

Ah, it's that Latin stuff. Dexter means right and Sinister means left. Blah blah blah. The memo must have been written by a left-hander with a fountain pen. It was all smeared.
All right guys.....since I'm waiting on a razor for the month I had time to make my razor for next Tuesday. A real beauty, eh? Nothing dangerous about that at all!
