For the popsicle stick shave, why not just use the wide sticks so there is very little blade exposure. The stick should keep it from flexing.
For science, I ate two of my daughter's popsicles. They didn't have the wide sticks. Tonight, I plan to eat the other 22 to see if they have wide sticks. Great idea, Mark!
A guy leaves for a couple months to get married and settled into a new house and comes back to this. I thought the big changes were in other aspects of my life, not the 30 day thread! Now I see Neal as the 30DC organizer/head shenaniganist and Chris promoted to a moderator. Congrats to you both! Definitely well deserved! I joined the 30 day thread for the first time a year ago and it feels great to be getting back to it! In honor of that first month on here, I will be using my Lord L6 razor, my VDH boar brush, and my Stirling MITA while doing a blade test. I plan to repeat a few of the blades I tried back then, including @NCoxSTL's vaunted Voskhod, which is the blade I will start with tonight. I will try to overlap Neal and his massive blade roundup where I have blades, which would be with the Dorco 300 and Shark near the beginning. I agree with Chris and am looking forward to reading about the tests as GDCarrington 's blade tests were very informative and helped me get a start on which blades to look at when I was new. I now shave almost exclusively at night right before bed because it is just the easiest time to find time. So I will be posting about my previous days shave most of the time when I actually do a report. Glad to be back and I missed the shenanigans . . . but not anyone going nuts with the menthol!!

Nice to meet you @wmbjr I guess I'm new here to, well at least new since you've been gone. I've learned a lot in here in the past 2 focus months and am getting better every day thanks to the guys in here.
I am feeling much better lately. Meds are working and all that jazz. I may start up a straights focus. The focus I want to do would be a comparison of full hollow, half hollow and wedge blades but I don't have a wedge. I'll troll around fitfully following Neal's blade trials until I can score a wedge from eBay or the like.
Like a tongue depresser stick. Then survivors will move to popsicle sticks then coffee stirrers and the final round will be just holding the blade by the tabs trying to shave.
I might try the first two, not so sure about #3. Last option is right out. Where do the chop sticks fit in?
