And you'd have a car with an ax buried in the hood and a very angry and large Russian woman sitting on your chest.
It's Saturday!! I'm sure some of you have big plans for the weekend so stay safe and have fun! Off to the sales floor this morning after another fine shave. More details tonight!
Glad to see some things haven't changed . . . They have just gotten more dangerous! Will definitely be grabbing the popcorn and a beverage for this one!
Jumping into July! Poraso Sensitive Omega #248 Gillette '59 FatBoy Voskhod 2nd use Alum & OS AS Smooth shaving in the summer time Thanks to @Marverel for the full tub of my first Poraso product. Wonderful lather, slick and lightly scented. I moistened it before loading, seems that's unnecessary. Plenty of suds - see photo above for leftovers. Gillette performed up to Cartel standards fitted with a Voskhod. I'm liking going to a higher setting. Learning to Ride The Cap has reduced irritation. Three passes, alum, and OldSpice have me feeling sharp. Today my widowed uncle is getting married. Casual dress in a commitment ceremony at her home. Going to be Aunts & Uncles, cousins & kids. The weather is cooperating, and shenanigans may ensue.
July 2016 Blade Focus July 1 Razor: Lord L6 Blade: Voskhod Brush: VDH Boar Soap: Stirling MITA Post: Cold water rinse, Alum block First time back with the Lord L6 and first time back on the 30 Day Thread in a while. I promise @Rufus T. I will keep it short. The razor was actually very nice to use. It has a good handle length and decent weight. It is an excellent beginners razor because is mild. Maybe a notch more aggressive than the tech so a good razor for learning. The Voskhod blade performed very well. Much better than it did in my original trials. My guess is it was probably technique and not the blade the first time. The VDH Boar was definitely not as nice as my synthetics but it still does a great job whipping up the lather from the Stirling soap. An excellent DFS+ shave last night.
I felt the Wilkinson Sword was very sharp as well. There was one spot on my chin where I put a little pressure and it bit me.but I really do find the sharper end of the spectrum more comfortable to shave with. Sent from my Galaxy S6 using Tapatalk
July Focus Day 2: Stirling Synthetic Brush Stirling Frozen Tundra Barbasol Floating Head Stirling Unscented PSB Avon Blue Blazer AS Another great shave with the Barbasol this morning. It was quick, easy, and efficient, just as I needed this morning. I am gearing up for a weekend visit from my parents, and I had an issue at work until about 11:30 last night. I got home at about 12:30 and was up at 5:00 to get some chores in along with my shave. I was just a bit too tired to mess with a straight, so this razor was perfect. Plus, it let me have a few extra minutes to get the kids rounded up before we had to leave at 7:30. A bit hectic, but a good start to my day. Another plus is that my wife and kids allowed this Avon Blue Blazer AS. I hope everyone has a great day!
Which Wilkinson Sword blades do you have? There made in 3 different places, India, Germany, and England that I know of. If they were some made in Russia I know they would be Fine blades, right @NCoxSTL ?
The ones I was referring to were the German classics. I have the Indian ones as well but haven't tried them yet Sent from my Galaxy S6 using Tapatalk
I'm very excited, I just discovered my local grocery sells razor handles, plus as a bonus, they're patriotic!
CJB/ Feather Super Pro (1 and done.... nope, nope, and nope again) Whipped Dog High Mountain 30mm Stirling Glacial MITA Thayers Nivea Tears B&M Actrique Well I know this write up will please @NCoxSTL and all the other sicko's on here that enjoy my pain and boy are you all in for a treat. Got to sleep in today which was nice. Around 7 a.m. I finished my coffee and set up my stuff so I could shave after my shower. Seeing as things have been going great with the CJB I said "hmmm I should really try the Super Pro.... see what all the fuss is about... it cant be any worse then the Feather Pro and what is the worst that could happen?"... popped in the Super Pro into the CJB and hopped in what could have easily been my last shower. Hopped out and heading over to the sink.... Disclaimer-Blades in my opinion are the most subjective things in shaving... just because I had a horrific result with a blade does not mean it will be the same for you and I am in no way saying my opinions on this blade is uniform for everyone** Loaded the Glacial MITA for about 10-15 seconds and went into a face lather. Worked up a great lather and picked up the CJB for my first pass. I did maybe half a stroke and set it down for a minute. While the blade no doubt slices the hair it feels grabby... as if it is not satisfied with just hair and wants some skin to take with it. I am in for a fight and should be careful but we all can guess how that worked out..... Picked it back up and making sure my angle and everything was spot on I gladly proceeded to turning my face into hamburger. 2 passes plus touch up resulted in........ Not sure yet... once the blood is gone I will have a better clue but I am sure it is not BBS... DFS if I am lucky... sure I removed more skin then I did hair. Tons of cold water, Thayers, tears, and Nivea later I splashed on the Arctique just because it numbs my face and needed to escape the pain. So in short Super Pro's are not for me and in all honesty I would much rather run into a swamp of alligators wearing a thong made out of steaks then use this blade again.
