    Saturday Shave
    [IMG]Brush- RazoRock Tri-Colored
    Razor- Schick Type G
    Blade- Schick (5)
    Soap- Stirling Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo
    Post Care- Crystal Alum
Thayers Witch Hazel with grapefruit EO and M-Bomb
    Osage Rub

News flash, it's hot in Phoenix! I cooled things down with a frigid setup. This Stirling soap is fantastic, it lathers easily, offers great protection, it's slick, has a great scent plus it is very cold. Perfect for today. I love this Schick razor, I get consistently good shaves from it and it is very easy to maneuver. I tried a different pass today, I started WTG then I did a 45 degree pass starting at the middle of my face and going out and up. I usually go 90 degrees in this direction but today I had noticeably less hair to remove come the ATG pass. I am going to play around with this idea but I am very happy with the results; BBS shave with only a slight tickle from the alum on my neck on the right side. I finished up with Thayers and followed it with the Osage Rub which has risen to the top of my AS lineup. Have a great day folks!

I got a couple of new razors today to try out, I was able to trade for them by figuring out a combination to an old antique safe. For my work I received a 1912 Auto strop and a GEM Micromatic. The 1912 is missing it's strop and any blades. :( But I also got the GEM Micromatic that I have already cleaned and sanitized.:)
Not bad for about 35 minutes worth of work, what do you think!

    Pre: Shower, Nivea face wash
    Razor: Gem Micromatic
    Blade: (? 3)
    Brush: TGN synthetic
    Soap: WSP Formula T Barbershop
Post: Cold water rinse, Maggard alum, Nivea sensitive cooling aftershave balm, The Veg

Tonight I decided on a cold water shave paired with Gem Razor that I just got, and got a comfortable almost BBS shave. I was excited to get another Gem razor and try it. So tonight I chose the Gem and the synthetic again for tonight's shave, although not as nice a shave and as close a shave as the Schick L1 that I have used it still was a good shave. I miss that L1 and the shaves I got with it but I'll I get a chance to use it again. Now on with the shave tonight, I went with a cold water shave tonight right out of the tap. First pass WTG was good and I got good beard reduction, I rinsed off my face and prepared for the next pass. Second pass was XTG and again with good beard reduction so much so I was expecting I possibly could get BBS. Third pass ATG I got really good beard reduction but didn't quite get BBS smooth but was almost BBS so I decided to just stop there and noticed I got one little weeper. I rinsed my face and grabbed my alum which stopped the weeper instantly after which I decided to just go and use the Nivea. I waited for that to soak in and applied The Veg and enjoyed the skin tightening of it. Not sure it I like this Micromatic or not but I will give it a fair shake.

Nvm I see the pic above. I hear the MMOC's are quite aggressive. Good job on walking away with only a weeper.

    July 2

    Waiting for Mail Call!!

    Razor - '46-'47 Gillette Aristocrat
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Tabac
    Brush - BoS Omega 10066
    Post - Alum, The Veg

Day two on the mail call setup and another fine, fine morning. Tabac and the BoS really worked well together, as always, and I swear anytime I take the top off of the bowl SWMBO suddenly shouts TABAC!! Definitely her favorite of the soaps. I broke the news to her it would become more rare around here. I may be single again over that, not sure. I do have the cologne too so I can always spray a little around if that keeps her happy.

Two passes to another BBS after just a bit of touchup. This was the setup I first used in the original edition of the 30DC in January 2015 and I thought it was great then. After all these months learning and perfecting technique it's just magnificent. Some have asked me why I try all of the bad stuff and try to prove TTT so much...this is why. Not only do you learn what will and won't work, and how to make it work, you also know the difference between horrible, bad, average, above average and excellent shaves. This one was, again, excellent.

Rainy day in the Lou today and tomorrow again. That's ok...people aren't going to the outdoor events and seem to be shopping more. Huge day at work today....and yes....the Veg definitely helped!!!

@NCoxSTL if you like the Tabac in the tub you should try the stick. It lathers better.

Today was another shave where I revisited a disappointing product. This time my Semogue Owners Club boar brush. I have to admit I'm a little OCD when it comes to my boar brushes. I hate to see them all splayed out and unkempt. To that end I always dry them in a cardboard tube from a roll of toilet paper to keep them tidy. I'm starting to figure out, however, that by doing so I've been slowing down the break in. So for the past few days I've been alternating lightly brushing them on some sandpaper, then soaking them and letting the dry without sleeving them. At first it was like listening to fingernails on a chalkboard when I looked at them, but it's starting to grow on me. I used it today to lather up some Soap Commander Commitment and shaved with my Schick L1 with a twin blade. No issues and a great shave. Much better performance from the Semogue now that I let it be the hedonist it wants to be. Now I'm sitting back and watching a documentary about Atlanta BBQ. Right now there at Andersons' having one of their specialties. A pig ear sandwich, and no that's not a cutsie menu name for something else. It's exactly what it says it is. A couple of pig's ears cooked in a crock pot, served on white bread with mustard, catsup, onions, and chili.
