    Saturday Shave
    [IMG]Brush- RazoRock Tri-Colored
    Razor- Schick Type G
    Blade- Schick (5)
    Soap- Stirling Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo
    Post Care- Crystal Alum
Thayers Witch Hazel with grapefruit EO and M-Bomb
    Osage Rub

News flash, it's hot in Phoenix! I cooled things down with a frigid setup. This Stirling soap is fantastic, it lathers easily, offers great protection, it's slick, has a great scent plus it is very cold. Perfect for today. I love this Schick razor, I get consistently good shaves from it and it is very easy to maneuver. I tried a different pass today, I started WTG then I did a 45 degree pass starting at the middle of my face and going out and up. I usually go 90 degrees in this direction but today I had noticeably less hair to remove come the ATG pass. I am going to play around with this idea but I am very happy with the results; BBS shave with only a slight tickle from the alum on my neck on the right side. I finished up with Thayers and followed it with the Osage Rub which has risen to the top of my AS lineup. Have a great day folks!

I have been enabled by @Robyflexx to look into a SE razor. I like efficient razors and he recommended a GEM G-Bar. How are they different from the Micromatic? Are there any others I should look into?

I find the shaves from the G bar are a bit milder than the micromatic. The G bar still provides a very efficient shave and the handle provides a great grip. The micromatic is a great razor, but I could use the G bar every day and be happy! It's a great razor!

Awww Maaaan....I got up this afternoon and theres a note from USPS on my door....
They tried to deliver my ER 1909...they needed a signature, so they took it back to the PO...and 4th of July weekend...I can't get it til Tues...
    .:angry021:

I can't believe how fast it came....I won it last Saturday from the UK, which means 'Screaming Jean' couldn't mail it til Monday, and they tried to deliver it here in Seattle 5 days later....Man, this 'Screaming Jean' is one very hip UK-Bay vendor to deal with....Course I haven't seen the razor yet....But they sure didn't waste anytime getting it to me....I know everyone can appreciate that! I'll fill everyone in, after I pick her up....Man, I thought I heard someone knocking on the door, from upstairs, but we have a door bell and they didn't ring that....

But....Tuesday is my birthday....soo maybe it tis our destiny for my 1909 holy grail lovely and I to meet on my b'day....We shall see.....There will be pics,an indepth review, brass bands, and dancers.....
    But.......if I gotta wait....and she's gotta wait.....YOU GOTTA WAIT....:char039:

Poor thing.....She tried to see me today, she couldn't wait....The Postman, probably drag her off, kicking and screaming.....So, I guess I won't shave til tuesday....I'm sure she will be awfully hungry by then, so I'll perpare a whisker feast for my 'Grail'....:pot:

No sleep Monday night, thats a given....

I have an user grade MMOC if you want to give it a shot. The GEM rabbit hole is one that hasn't really interested me in going down

Took a little detour from my blade trial to give the PAL adjustable a spin. Like my other injectors it offered a smooth easy comfortable shave. The angle is a little different but wow what an easy 2 pass BBS. No sting what so ever from the alum. Fantastic shave! Have a great day everyone!

Do you leave it at the middle setting for your shaves?

This was my first time using it. But I left it at the middle for the whole shave and it was efficient enough for me right there

Same here. The middle seems like the spot for me too.

    Rufus T. Late for dinner

    July 2, 2016
Saturday evening shave prior to dinner out with the Rufus T. gals (wife and daughter).

Pulled out the 1912 Gem Damaskeene for my second try with it. First try did not go so well. But I had also tried my hand at blade stopping for the first time while using an NOS blade so that could have been the negative variable.

So on this shave I just tried the razor with a present day GEM stainless PTFE blade.

    07-01-02-16.JPG

    Hot shower, cold-water shave.
    Razor: 1912 Gem Damaskeene
    Blade: GEM Stainless PTFE
    Brush: Omega 48
    Soap: Stirling Island Man M-bombed
    Witch Hazel
    AS: Stirling Island Man

2-day growth, 3-pass shave. WTG, XTG, ATG (that was the plan anyway.)

    Wow, now that was smooth!

After just a few strokes I sensed I was in for a treat. I found the angle very quickly (ride the cap) and I knew I wouldn't need three passes. Switched to XTG and had one of my best first-pass reductions. Amazed at the smoothness of the whisker slicing and surprised at the low audible feedback. ATG was just as smooth, even around most of my chin.

Can't wait to spend more time with this set-up, plus learn how to improve my stropping. It may have to wait until September as I already have my next two months pre-planned with other shaving escapades.

18 hours later, I'm just now feeling some growth. I'm going to love this razor.

    Cheers!

@Rufus T. and @BearCWY - The Schick L arrived yesterday! Thanks for sending over to me, Bear. I'll be shaving with it shortly.

However, I had a very difficult time loading a Twin blade into the razor. The Twin wanted to go in on top of the current blade and not push that blade out. I had to finagle it some to finally push the blade out. I hope I didn't tear up the Twin blade. I've never had that issue when loading an injector before. It was odd.

Beautiful razor in great condition! I'm excited to shave with it. Shave report coming up soon.

I picked up a Henckel's Rapide some months ago and it's been waiting patiently for me to clean it up and put it to use. Today was the day. It came with a separate stropping handle and attachment which made stropping really easy. With 2 to 3 days of growth I took short strokes on the first pass. Still a little tuggy but good reduction. Finding the angle on this razor seemed really easy. Lots of audible feedback as well. Good reduction on the subsequent passes and a mostly BBS shave. Unlike the Heljestrand I picked up some very, very tiny weepers from where I was chasing the baby.

I'll be using this razor again, I like it. :happy036:

    Blade: Schick Twin
Razor: Schick L injector (on loan from @BearCWY, originally from @Rufus T.)
    Brush: Artisan badger
    Lather: TSD Bay Rum
Post: Witch hazel splash, TSD Iced Bay Rum, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Well, I guess the Twin blade wasn't harmed in my crazy loading attempts. Nice, smooth, enjoyable shave with the Twin and the Schick L. I liked the long, curved handle of the L razor. It looks sleek and vintage - I really like it. I'll have to look for one someday. I need to score some of these $5 shipped deals that some of you are finding!

The TSD soap and after shave were terrific as always. This was a nice shave overall.

    Have a great day!
