Back in the day, it always went like this 9.9 (USA, GBR, FRA, W GER) 9.7 (USSR, POL, ROM) 6.2 (E GER) Come to think of it, the Olympics are fair and things tend to remain apolitical, and athletes are always allowed to decide things through competition. Or not. Play the fight song.
Thanks fellas and all of the 30DC, especially for making it so much fun. It was a blast! I've lived vicariously through you all these past 6 months or so - with your pain sticks, Dark Side, Kamisoris, hollow blades, etc. It was fun to jump in for the day and feel the rush. But I'm leaving the day-to-day to you pros. …at least until the next Cinco de Julio! Cheers! RT
Coda to Cinco de Julio- A comment in another thread reminded me that in World of Warcraft, there is a weapon known as the "Blackrock Slicer":
July Focus Day 6: Stirling Synthetic Brush Arko Barbasol Floating Head Stirling Unscented PSB Barbasol Brisk AS What a terrific shave this morning. I used a Shark blade in the Barbasol, which is odd because I am fairly certain I have never bought any Sharks before. I am not sure where it came from, but when paired with the Barbasol, it gave me a DFS on two easy passes. I paired the Barbasol razor with some Barbasol Brisk, and my day is off to a great start. I hope everyone has a great day!
I applaud all of you stunt shavers! Your recklessness fearlessness astonishes me! I am glad regret I did not join you in this effort. There is always next Cinco de Julio!
Wow that weekend went fast. Oh yeah, just one day this time, but what a day! Thanks to the Cinco de Julio crew and the rest of you....get ready to jump in next year. We have to figure out how to match that one but, given the personalities on here, something tells me we will. Normal shave this morning while I wait on the mail. Report tonight. Have a great day!
Too kind, thanks so much Keith! It was awesome. Thanks for all your inspiration on this thread this past year.
Congrats to all you crazy brave idiots men that shaved in the Cinco de Julio. You have my respect and maybe next year I will join you in your folly attempts at getting shaves with stupid inventive shaving gear. Till next year, maybe we can get more idiots brave souls to join in.
ROFL @mrchick I suppose I am, how did you figure that out! Oh, buy the way where did you get that picture of me?
Interesting read. Home-made shavettes (or 'pain sticks') No thanks. Absolutely no appeal to me. I've done the single edge shavette and although it resembles somewhat the SR experience, the edges were always less comfortable than a properly-honed hollow ground or wedge carbon steel blade.
