I've haven't yet tried the Gillette new short comb head, always the old short comb, until today that is. Gotta say in my opinion, compared with the old short comb, this is more like a medium comb. I have used the new long comb on this handle for shaves that were days apart, but figured, why not. I paired it with the Voskhod blade and Frank Shaving badger brush and this came out to be the best BBS shave I've ever had. I haven't tried it with my go-to Lab Blues, which work great with the long comb base (background), but that'll be another time. That was one damn fine shave................. IMG_0578.jpg

Just had one of those WOW shaves complements of my Cooper MonoBilt, Wilkinson Sword Classic and Tabac. Everything was spot on for an easy comfortable 3 pass BBS shave. Exquisite! Have a great evening gents!

    Timeless OC with Hempel Ti
    Feather (1)

I received the Timeless OC Head yesterday. Since I have accumulated several handles, I decided to go with the head only. A couple of observations. The razor is stunning. Pictures failed to capture the true look of the razor. The polishing was first rate on the bottom plate and the outside of the top cap. The inside of the top cap was not polished or finished to the same standard. This in no way impacted the shave or my overall impressions of the razor.

There was no need to fiddle as I loaded the new Feather blade. The razor held the blade firmly in perfect alignment. I decided to proceed with a traditional 3 pass shave, WTG, XTG, & ATG. With such a large blade gap, one would think it would be a fairly aggressive razor. While I did feel the blade, I never felt as if it would bite me. Nothing like an Ikon Tech for example. However, the Timeless OC was very efficient much like my Wolfman OC. Overall I am very pleased with the initial shave and I expect the shaves will improve as I become more accustomed to the razor.

    Timeless OC
    Feather HS #2
    BSB-1 Two Band
    MDC Fougere
    Witch Hazel
    Mystic Water Whipped Shea Butter
    Folsom & Co. Capri

This is my second shave with TIMELESS OC. Loaded with a Feather HS, the OC plate has an excellent face feel, the shaving angle was easy to find, and was minimal auditory feedback. The design of the plate was such that there was no problem with clogging. The head design was good for the tight spots under my nose and chin. My shave was smooth and comfortable. I could feel the blade yet the it didn't feel particularly aggressive. I was able to j-hook, slide and blade buff safely. I did my regular two pass shave, WTG/XGT and AGT. After the second pass there was very little to clean up. The razor handled my trouble spots nicely. The result was near BBS with no irritation.

A Gillette NEW LC with a fresh Feather blade redefines "sharp and smooth". I barely felt the blade touching my face. I just wish that Feather blades would longer retain that initial sharpness.

    Gillette New Long Comb
    Wilkinson Sword Classic (3)
    Stirling Synthetic 24MM
    Stirling Executive Man

Good morning friends! Today was a shave full of new items for me and they all worked wonderfully. First of all let me just say that Stirling soaps offer amazing performance. Ive never had a soap feel this slick and leave me with such a great post shave feel. The Stirling 24mm synthetic was also amazing. It is equipped with the same Plisson style synthetic knot that my RazoRock Plissoft has but the way it is set makes it feel completely different. The knot on the Stirling is set deeper in the handle with a loft height of 54mm giving it some excellent backbone. Set at 57MM the Plissoft feels much floppier by comparison. The Stirling synthetic whipped up a creamy later out of the Executive Man that felt so slick. I was thoroughly amazed how effortlessly the New LC slid across my face. The Wilkinson sword classic is still very sharp showing no signs of slowing down. 3 passed for a very comfortable DFS bordering on BBS. The alum was silent and Niva ASB went on silky smooth. After a few more uses of the brush and soap I will write up a formal review. But I can already tell you that this equipment is top notch! Have a great day my friends!
