    July Focus
I’ve finally completed 6 months of Focus using each of my 13 different Schick Eversharp injector razors. This month I’ll focus on two non-Schick razors:

    PAL InjectoMatic
    Personna Floating Head

    Razor: Personna Floating Head Injector
    Blade: Personna *74

Two-day growth, three-pass shave - WTG, XTG, ATG

I first shaved with this razor back in April as this razor was one of the last injector razors that I've had my eyes on and it found its way to me as a PIF from @Bama Samurai

I had a beautiful shave with it back then and…..

Not much different in my three shaves this week. Beautifully easy shaves with the head operating like a vacuum cleaner. Feedback is quieter than the typical injector 'velcro' sound on first passes, yet with fine reduction. The ATG pass sounded more typical while this combo provided trouble-free, near-BBS shaves every time.

    Cheers!

Chick for the PAL IM - how'd you like the 74 in the Floating Head? I've always used a twin in mine. :happy088:

Thanks for the Chick tip for the PAL ! :happy088:

My first couple shaves with the P74 blades were great - sharp and smooth.
But I was just as interested in checking the legendary life of those blades. Unfortunately I took it on my recent trip - uncovered! - and it seems the blade may have been dinged. So I'll have to change it out and start a new string as they are said to last much longer than the 5 shaves I got before it seemed a tad rough.

    Have you tried them yet?

Also, I did not know the Personna FH would take a Twin! I may just try that one next before reloading a P74.

    Thanks KG!

I had some of these 74 Legendary Blades & I Didn't get anything Like the Shaves out of them that's Been Claimed By Some..When these Blades came Out they were a Break Through in Blade Technology in their Day & that's where they get their Rep from..They were the Best in their Day so to Speak..The USA Schick Plats have a Rep in Forums as Well for the same Reason..Yet I Don't Rate them at All..The 74s are a Nice Blade Mind.. The Dutch Ones are the Best I have ever Came Across..:)

A most pleasurable shave this morning with my PAL Adjustable razor. This is a very aggressive razor but when used correctly provides flawlessly smooth shaves. My buddy Mike makes a wonderful homemade shave soap which provides plentiful rich, creamy, slick lather. Three passes for a dolphin smooth finish. Enjoy your weekend friends. :happy069:

I have a 5 pack of 74s but haven't used any of them yet. Maybe in a PAL Adjustable one day. It's the longevity thing I've wondered about as well. I'm hoping they really do last many times longer than the usual 5 or so shaves that I typically get. However, @Billyfergie 's experience makes me wonder about what is to be expected. There may be some hype out there. Even with other blades I've seen guys claim a number of shaves with a blade that is two or three times or more than what I get. Maybe they just take one or two passes. :signs002:

    Blade: Chinese Schick
    Razor: Bunny V3 Injector
    Brush: Semogue 1520 boar
    Lather: La Toja
Post: Witch hazel splash, Florida Water, Nivea sensitive balm
    WTG, touch-up

Nice shave again with the Bunny V3. Each shave is improving. Beautiful razor and lots of fun to be able to try it out.

I can't say enough about La Toja! What a great soap! It loaded in a heartbeat and face lathered so easily. I'll have to get some more of it as I only had a little bit from a shave stick that I pressed into a container. Great scent, very slick and protective - terrific product!

Finished with a little Florida Water and some balm for a nice shave. Have a great day everyone!

G is very mild in comparison...unless you boost the performance with a Feather cut off
    E(2) is somewhat comparable.

There is a reason it is called the Schick buster...because it is that good!

Loaded a blade in the PAL razor today. I have re-purposed an empty injector for loading empty injector razors. By loading it with a single used blade, I can skip wasting a blade whenever I need to load an empty injector now. I just reload the the used blade back in the marked injector when I load a new blade immediately following the normally 'sacrificed' blade.

First thing I noticed, was Wow! Holy blade exposure Batman! Compared to my Schick injectors, this thing looks more akin to a carrot peeler.

So on to the shave. I was a bit trepidatious when I was all lather up with some Aquatico, looking at myself holding the PAL in the mirror. Proceeded with the lightest of touch, and everything turned out just fine. Nice shave, two weepers. I had such a close shave with the Hydro-Magic yesterday, the PAL was a bit overkill for the task at hand. Normally I would have grabbed a G- Type or a SuperSpeed for a shave like today's, but I was drawn to the PAL anyway.

Finished with Alum block, AquaVelva Ice Blue and then some Avon Blend 7.

I took the lessons from my outing with the F and the Dutch Schicks yesterday and applied them to today's shave. Magnifico. Like yesterday, the first stroke was like silk. This time, I remembered to not treat it like a cartridge and was extra careful to just use the weight of the razor and the lightest of pressure with these blades. I also was mostly successful at avoiding the temptation to go over a spot more than once or twice. Wonderful shave with hardly any touch ups needed. :happy036:

    Post Care- Crystal Alum
Thayers Witch Hazel with grapefruit EO and M-Bomb
    Osage Rub

My second attempt at a straight razor and I didn't bleed so we're calling it successful. I made the wonderful Route 66 lather a little thin and lathered my right side. I had a couple days growth and I had a hard time getting the razor to cut smoothly. I did my cheek and then lathered my left side. Using my left hand, which worked better than with a DE, I started and had the same problem, it just wasn't cutting good. I stopped, did a full lather and let my PAL eat. It devoured my beard in no time flat. I then lathered my right side again and tried the straight. This pass went much better, no pulling or tugging and I did my cheek and neck. I then lathered my left side and using my left hand again I completed my left cheek and neck. I then used the PAL for my chin and upper lip. My third pass was ATG with the PAL and I finished BBS smooth with almost zero feedback from the alum. Splashed on some Thayers and finished with the Osage Rub for a successful shave. Have a great day folks!

    TONIGHTS SHAVE!
RAZOR: SCHICK INJECTOR H "THE HUSSY"
    BLADE: SCHICK TWIN
    BRUSH: 24mm Boar WD
    SOAP: Haslinger
    AS: Kennith Cole Mankind Balm
    COLOGNE: KC Mankind

The question was asked earlier this week, what models of Schicks the twin blades will fit. It is commonly believed that twins only fit models "I" and after. Without the Hydo-Magic leaver action as twins WILL NOT WORK IN THEM. Being one of the very few who is comfortable with their manhood:D. I happen to own and very much enjoy the shaves the Hussy gives. With the Chick blade it is in my top 3 razors without a doubt. Those are the PAL Injecto-Matic, E2, and the Hussy. I leave my Bunny out because I am Very biased towards it. So I am only listing
    production razors.

I would have had a very hard time picking my favorite of those 3 until tonight. (SPOILER ALERT THERE).
I picked my very favorite soap and brush for tonights test. As always the Haslinger performed flawlessly. (If you have not tried it yet, do yourself a favor and get a puck.) I started by loading my Boar for only 7 to 10 seconds. The Haslinger loads super fast. After loading I began to face lather. (My preferred method for most consistent results). Once I had a beautiful lather built I proceeded to start my shave.

PASS 1. Starting on my left side as I am left handed. I began my shave. Starting from my ear and behind I took average length strokes for me 2" I would guess down tony jaw. With the Hussy I find I like rinsing more often, 2 times per quadrant. I break my shaves into 7 areas. Left side Right side of face. Then move to Left side and Right side of neck. Then left side and right side of jaw line. Lastly my upper lip area. There is a lot of rinsing but a few swirls in my sink filled with water and it is good to go. Finishing my first pass, I always get my hands wet and feel for the reduction. I also check and see how slick the soap residue is. This helps me with my lather making the next time. As usual the Haslinger leaves a very slick film. As for my reduction I found todays shave with the twins was way above average on my face. My neck and jaw line were on the better end. Mind you I never get great reduction there with what ever I use. That is really the only reason I do 3 passes all of the time.

PASS 2. Lathered up without reloading my brush. Going in my same sequence I went XTG all areas. Wet my hands to feel reduction. Smooth as silk on my face. My jaw and neck had fantastic reduction. I could feel stubble still. If it were a normal day I actually would have stopped there and been happy. But being I was on a mission to try out the Twins. # pass shave is called for.

PASS 3. No reloading of the brush needed, as my face is super slick still. I prefer a very light layer on my face for the third pass when there is nice slickness left from pass 2. Haslinger and Tabac are the only 2 soaps I have that perform this well. Anyhow proceeded with pass 3. on my third pass I tend to do very short and fast buffing strokes all over. Keeping my lather thin (it is still very slick I do not gob on loads of lather) I can rinse once per quadrant. I finished my third pass and rinsed off with warm water. Taking care to feel every inch of my face I could not find a hair in sight. So I took my OSMA block and gave it a go around my face. no feedback at all.

Leaving the Alum on my face while I cleaned my razor and brush I realized that this may have been one of my fastest shave I have done. As it turned out is IS my best shave also. I do not know if the stars all aligned today or the Hussy with the Twins is a match unintentionally made in heaven. I will do further shaves for sure with this setup.

To all Hussy owners I implore you to give the Twins a whirl.

I wanted to show how I hold the Hussy. I keep the lightest of pressure on the razor. Using only 2 fingers for the pressure. the third finger is only there for balance. I do change from index to middle finger depending on what direction I am shaving. With this grip the razor is free to pivot to all of my contours. As always with all of my shaves I use a Feather like touch. ZERO pressure on my face.

It is one of my top performers. It gives effortless shaves. With the Chick blade it is side by side with ether of my PAL OR E2. It is a must try razor in my opinion. I got mine for $6 at antique store. Best $6 spent in my opinion.
