Here's a tricky one. "He/she leads the group." He/she LED the group. as opposed to "leaded the group" "He/she needs more coffee". He/she "needed" more coffee, as opposed to "ned more coffee". ,
I'm tired of hearing people say "The REALITY is", when the "FACT" is sounds better and more dignified(IMO of course).
Whenever I hear someone start a sentence that way (the reality is...), it puts me off because it seems to be code for "You're completely delusional...." Much like a Southern Lady blessin' someone's heart.
When I hear, "Bless their heart..." I'm thinking they mean, "Bless 'em HARD!" I don't mind folks praying *for" me, but not *AT* me. YOMV Via Kyocera / Tapatalk
I am recalling a department head who began a discussion of school disciplinary issues with "What is your current reality?" The teachers in the group asked him to clarify what information we were expected to provide in response, he simply repeated the question. Consequently, I gave the following truthful answer; "I'm fat. I've got arthritis and I want to retire."
I missed "something similar" in my coffee during the family reunion trip. Glad to be sprinkling it in again.
