    Hello everyone, today's OC SOTD went like this;

    1920's Gillette New Standard.
    Gillette Silver Blue blade.
    Kent BLK2 badger brush.
Maggards Artisan London Barbershop shave soap.
    Avon Mesmerize aftershave lotion.
    Avon Mesmerize cologne.

This is a very efficient razor. I should use it more. It mowed down two days of stubble in two passes with no touch ups. First pass WTG, second pass XTG. A full fledged BBS. Thanks for reading, and have a great day!

My 8th shave today with the Timeless OC. Three passes with touch ups ended in a near BBS. No fuss or drama just a great work morning shave. Finished up with a splash of Fine L'Orange. I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday.

A very good shave this morning. It would have been near prefect but for operator errors. The CH 2 synthetic lathered up the MW Eucalyptus & Spearmint soap easily. I love the scent of the soap but wish it had a little more menthol. I went with a traditional 3 pass shave that ended in a near BBS. This is where I should have stopped but no I had to chase the baby and managed to nick myself in the process. Live and Learn I guess. Finished up the shave with a splash of Floid Blue. I hope everyone has a great Saturday.

A first rate Sunday morning shave. The Wolfman OC continues to impress with its smooth efficient shaves.

I used my new find from yesterday, NEW LC. I also used this beast of a brush for the first time. Very soft and full of lather from the C&E Sweet Almond. Finished with the C&E Sandalwood post shave Lotion..... silky smooth for the rest of the day now.

    SOTD July 18th
    [IMG]

    Gillette New Short Comb
    Dorco ST-300(3)
    Stirling 24mm Synthetic
    Tabac

Today's shave concludes my trial of the Dorco ST-300 blade. Today's shave was much the same as the other two that I had with the Dorco ST-300, smooth. I said it on its fist shave and it still hold true, this is perhaps the smoothest blade I have ever used. Even in the aggressive short comb it never felt harsh and I never felt that if I messed up I would cut myself. Sharpness on the other hand leaves a little something to be desired. If I were to rate the sharpness on a scale of 1-10 I would say that brand new its starts out at maybe a 6 or a 7. I was able to get a BBS the first two shaves but really felt that the edge was deteriorating on the third and ended up with a DFS. For me the ST-300 was certainly not a bad blade but it also wasn't one that made the heavens open up and the angels sing. One other thing to note, in each of these shaves there was not a hint of irritation. If one didn't have a particularly coarse beard this would be a very good blade to try. It also pairs very well with an aggressive razor.

Have a great day my friends!

What I really like about the Gillette three pieces razors is how easy it is to rinse the blade.

That and they seem to hold the blade more rigidly than TTO razors.

I like the "enhanced" blade exposure

I was actually thinking of the comparison with some non-Gillette OC razors.

I don't have a problem rinsing any of my DE or injectors razors. When I think of problems rinsing I think of clogged carts LOL
