Thanks! If I don't use the new Seaforth mug for anything else at least I can melt my Provel so I can more easily pour it over crackers and add some tomatoes to make pizza!
I've often wondered about wine or beer. Ever smelled fermentation? I wanna know how why, way back, somebody decided to drink it anyway.
Definitely have safe and fun travels! Just left Mobile not too long ago. The kit and the cold water shaves will do well in the wonderful heat of Bama. Though Bama has nothing on the heat in Columbia!
Will post details later, but I survived the shave with the Baili/Bigfoot razor and blades. Heading to get the fire extinguisher to see if it will help more than the Nivea.
July Focus Day 21: Stirling Synthetic Brush La Toja Shave Stick Gillette British Tech Osage Rub Stirling Unscented PSB Clubman AS I had a great shave with the British Tech this morning. I used a Voskhod blade, and given the great lather the La Toja made, I got very near a BBS on two passes. I could have easily chased it, but I was happy where it was at and called it good. I hope everyone has a great day!
It's been so hot in East Texas, I have been tempted to go nuts with it. I have been using more as a body splash here, which is definitely helping to cool off a bit. Luckily, I have this thread to keep me sane enough to not go nuts!
I haven't used an actual R89 head, but i have used the RR clone and I would say they are so close that they are nearly identical. Supposedly the R89 has a blade gap that is .002" wider. but I doubt its noticeable. Besides when you ride the cap they are all the same .
Focus free focus I have a new favorite straight. This razor is heavy but just glides through the whiskers. Two passes for a nice irritation free DFS. This baby will be a regular in my rotation Route 66 Sweeney Todd Oscar11 Synthetic Wade and Butcher 7/8 Celebrated Alum Lucky Tiger TSD Iced Egyptian Spice AS Have Fun!
Yes. This is a Robeson SureEdge from New York, and actually belongs to @Norcalnewb. I liked it so much I got my own. Very similar feel to WR Case & Sons, Cattaraugus, and Kinfolks razors from the same era. Interestingly, the Robeson company was run by a member of the Case family who married into the Robeson family. I think this partially explains the similarities. I love my NY steel from this era.
Smelled it? I actively participate in fermentation. Been a home brewer for decades. It's a project of opportunity. When fresh fruit is available, especially wild uncultivated I gather and freeze to make my own. In my freezer now I have 8 gallons of Japanese plums from this late spring. They've been split & seeds removed. Next step is cook em down to sterilize and release all the flavor. Add sugar, water, champagne yeast, and adjust the acid level for best production. Six to eight weeks later I'll bottle it. Should produce 3 cases of a sweet Moscato like wine, but at a higher 15 -18% alcohol content. Yes, there is a yeasty smell when it's brewing. It's a selective process when you choose the yeast, rather than the scent of rotting fruit.
I was on a business trip for work, and just got back to KS today. Heading out tomorrow for a 10 vacation with the family. Looking forward to time off work, even if I am going to Phoenix in July. If I get a few minutes I will post my travel shaves. Tried a disposable razor. Wasn't impressed.
Phoenix in July. I can't think of anything funny or sarcastic to say about that. Just the fact you're doing it outdoes anything I can say. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
